Hey, just gonna upgrade my mixer to a PCV-175 then all i need is some speakers and amp (i have some, but they suck).
Im a cheapo student so i need some that are as cheap as possible but decent ;) So no top of the range high price PA kits lol. And wheres the cheapest place, i know only sapphires and richersounds (and a few other DJ stores).

I was thinking of stuff similar to this:

cheers

P.s. whats the difference between active & passive?

I know the rms/pmpo stuff and other stuff but this.

Passive you need an amp and active they have an amp built in basicaly.

NAD C320 amp
Wharfedale Diamond 8.1 speakers

all top notch kit and can be found for a good price, especially if you buy second hand (this is an option with amps as theres pretty much nothing to go wrong with them)

Though for many hi-fi amps like the NAD you will have to purchase a phono stage seperately.

to be honest sapphires are a ing rip off anyway...

always test it in a shop first!!!!!

i always take my cd single of Ocean Lab - Clear Blue Water (Ferry Corsten Remix) with me, as i find it the most accurate way to see if a system is decent or not.

i have that amp, i like it a lot! i have it hooked up to a pair of wharfedale valdus 400 floorstanding speakers.. all of which came at good prices.. i got the speakers brand new in some special offer on the internet (sorry cant remember the website :/ was a year ago hehe) for only £250, then the amp was brand new from a hi-fi shop in sheffield called woodgate accoustics for £150 (i think).

if its not miles for you i would recommend going there, they truly know their and wont sell you crap.. and i always cream my pants walking in there as they have the most beautiful mission speakers   :D
