Man Utd Poach Liam Miller

Yet again the manc bastards are making the most out of exploiting the bosman ruling.

Liam Miller is set to sign for Manchester United despite Celtic offering him the chance to become Scotland's best-paid young player.

Martin O'Neill's jubilation at finally landing Stephen Pearson was tempered with the shock news that Miller was on the verge of signing a pre-contract agreement with the English giants.

The Celtic manager expects the signing of Motherwell midfielder Pearson to go through on Friday after agreeing a £350,000 fee with the club.

But his joy was quickly displaced as it emerged that Miller had decided against a new contract offer and was heading for Old Trafford at the end of the season.

A Celtic spokesman said: "We have had no conformation from Manchester United of any pre-contractual agreement.

"We made an extremely generous offer to Liam Miller, the biggest salary deal ever put on the table for a young Celtic player who has come up through the ranks.

"This offer was made following detailed consideration of Liam's contribution to the team to date during his 16 first-team starting appearances as well as eventual potential.

"It's a salary package which would make him one of the very best-paid young players in Scottish football history."

Miller would follow in the footsteps of Brian McClair, Lou Macari and Paddy Crerand in moving from Parkhead to United.

But the move will leave a sour taste in the mouth of O'Neill, who had been in contract talks with him and his agent.

The 22-year-old's contract expires in the summer and while they were beginning to drag on, the player indicated that he never wanted to leave Celtic for any side when the speculation started.

It represents another major coup for United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who had been impressed with Miller's mature performances since he broke into the first team at Parkhead.

Miller has been compared to United skipper Roy Keane for his energetic running and goals from midfield this season.

The youngster has already scored five times this season, one of which was a stunning strike against Anderlecht in November, but he was left on the bench for Saturday's Old Firm victory over Rangers.]

So even worse than the Bellion saga when United unsettle him and get the low tribunal fee, celtic get NOTHING for this.

I really hope that United get it happening to them at somepoint so they can realise the damage it will cause when players worth upto 5million in this case turn their backs on the scum

I think Miller would have fitted better in a team like Newcastle of Liverpool where he could be with allot of young British talents, and he could continue to grow. Man u do what they always do and pinch the young crop.

I hope he does not leave coz O'neil is a far better manager than Ferguson

celtic fan my arse.

I'm very disappointed in his attitude. If the deal was as good as they say it was then why the is he going to man utd to warm the bench when he could be a first team regular for the team he supposedly adored as a kid.

Unless a proven footballer, prepare to rot on benches of ManU or Chelski.

I wish MAN UTD will off! I hate Ferguson fat red faced miserable little piece of , I read the other day PSV were going to report them to UEFA for trying to steal some 19 year old lad. Its just typical of them chucking their money around stealing players luring them with good contracts.

If I see someone in a Man Utd shirt no matter what gender or age I will beat ten shades of ing out them rip their shirt off their back and burn the ing scummy thing.

I know what you mean, He won't be a regular at United for a while, just how ferguson works anyway, and if he loves celtic so much, he should stick with them, it's not like it'll cross the poverty line from not doing so, and unlike even Kewell who turned down united for the club he supported as a kid, it's a shame if another prospect ends up at the scum :(

They were reffering to their buys of Jaap Stam and Ruudy Poo! They wanted a lad called Rojenn or something like that, dutch names are hard to remember, i just remember that he is class on CM3 lol.

Typical man u. Prob promise him somethign he aint going to get.

Funny statistic other day, 2 more games and Gary Neville is the longest serving england player to have never scored a internations goal. Serves him right the piece of player he is!!
