You could say something like - "I'm going down the pub with my mates"
Im america you wouldn't however say "I'm going down the bar with my men" |

How's it going, mate??
G'day mate
Me and my mates are going out tonight
Yeah, he's a good mate (friend) of mine.
Do you want to mate with me tonight?? :eyes: :whip:
Mate, you have to be kidding. That is the craziest thing i have ever heard....
We say mate quite a lot here in Australia, but people also say man/dude/bro a lot as well. |

| "BRO" is also a commonly used term here that you can substitute for Mate. |

The thing is, to me (As an Aussie), when someone uses 'bro', I immediatly class them as stupid/idiotic. On the other hand, mate is ok in my book. ;)
It's probably a double standard, but my experience with the word 'bro' stipulates that it's only used by stupid people. :p |

| i never heard a brit say "what's up." or do they say " whats up." When somebody ask me, " whats up?" I usually say ," The sky is up." |

There's one context in which it does make sense: when you're doing something bum-like eg: "could you spare a ciggy bro?", "don't have twenny cents do ya bro?". |
