did anyone go ? i got there little after 1am and eddie was already on.. Space Lovers - Space Lover[Mara remix] was playing thru the speakers as i walked in the main dance fl.. it was my first time checking out avalon and i must say they did a great job fixing up the place.. very very clean compared to the old limelight... more lights, visuals, dancers, brand new dj booth and most importantly, EAW sound sytem was very nice.. nice well rounded bass just enuff mids and clear highs... only thing they didint touch was the steps..lol still peelin off.. got to check out the dj booth.. spoke to jason jollins for a bit.. he seemed to enjoy himself..:p i absolutely loved the set up in the booth.. 3 technics t.tables, 2 pioneer cdj 1000 and a Rane rotary mixer w' eqs.. very dj friendly exactly the stuff u need and no more.. theres a comfy couch in the back and even a bathroom in there  talk about dj firendly...lol eddie spun from 1am til about 4:30 played mostly progressive & breaks.. i have to admitt he's one of the most underrated progressive djs in nyc.. seriously those who heard him at tfst 003 know what i mean... he plays prog with trance elements that with ya mind not to mention flawless mixing.. he also dropped Contact - Contact, Dido - Here With Me[Parks & Wilson remix] and closed with Dirty Sticky Floors[i forget which mix..] about the crowd.. it was pretty mixed crowd.. some toursits/out of towners.. not much juiceheads that night and ppl were friendly.. towards the end of eddie's set, some kids were even breaking which was cool.. also the place was about 60% packed which was decent considering how cold it was that night and the djs werent 'international superstars' i was happy to see the locals bang it out.. i had a great time and big ups to avalon for tryin to resurface the nyc club culture[it seems to be going in the right direction..] :p
