Hey Generation X, I think I can totally understand your sounds. At the moment, I'm hearing FKiD - Four, and it's VERY interesting. I can tell that you are new at this, and MANY ideas flow through your head - it's just that you lack the experience to produce full tracks at the moment. I think I totally understand your sound, since it is obvious that you want to branch out of the 'norm'.
Are you crap? HELL NO! I think you are on a good road, to future success when it comes to producing. Why?
Because you are a good sport. You have a lot of guts posting this stuff on a live Trance Forum, AND on a place that is houses most electronic dance music, most of the time.
I don't consider any of the early songs Trance as of yet. I'm gonna listen to the rest and give comments on those, but I think you are heading in an interesting direction.
Ever checked out the music from Warp Recordings? Housing artists like Square Pusher, Aphex Twin, Autechre, LFO, etc. etc. etc. I think your calling is to produce of different musical genres besides trance, but I DO think you are capable of making that 'mainstream' trance sound in the future too.
Keep up the work. Practice works, trust me, I know this producing for a short period of time. Keep it up! -Mental |

The only thing that was a waste of time, was reading your post. You come here, thinking your Mr. High, and Mighty, like you call the shots, thinking that everybody is going to agree with you.
:mad: Exactly who do you think you are? That kind of attitude isn't excepted here.
When's the last time you produced a good track? A Matter, of fact, I don't even think that matters, how good you are, you are still an ass for talking that way to this up and coming producer.
This guys got heart, soul, and guts for putting up 10 previews of incomplete amateur work, and you come here, and start trashing his hours of work. I suggest you go to another forum so you can continue you elitist bashing. ::whip: -Mental |

| I honestly think you got a bright future ahead of you, at your young age these are quite good. after a couple years you will be pulling off quality material and don't listen to s like begerman, i doubt he can't make better himself. |

hmm.....altho theyre all crap, i can see u have a lil potential.
to say uve gooten good "if u do say so urself" is a wankerish thing to say...when ur stuff is good then u can say that.

where he said it was good??? point that please..all he said it's good from HIS view, and when i made my first track very first ones, well i thought they were good, but i know it's crap if you compared to pro tunes...

I have no idea what you are talking about. Did you actually read his first post? I did, and he never said anything like that, which is why I posted here. If anything, this guys got heart, and soul, and I respect where he's going right now.

I agree with you Massive 100%. Comparing somebody's first tracks to pro tunes is SO idiotic, and makes an ass out of some people here. The main thing that I like about MOST of the people here is the constructive criticism, not the BASHING!
I think this guy Generation X has a LOT of potential to be a great artist in the future. Why? Cuz he's being honest with all of us, and showing us his ideas, even though he is young, and inexperienced with composing music. I see a bright future for Generation X, and it may be too early to judge him, but I see an 'open mind' in him, as I hear his music.
A Great attitude, an open mind - GREAT ATTRIBUTES for being a great musician in the future. Forget what all these idiots say about you Generation X. They are probably too elitist, or too close minded to understand exactly where you are coming from. -Mental |

the sounds need alot of work, but that's not that important when you're just starting ou
i liked One (does sound a bit like Boards of Canada like starglider mentioned), i liked Two too, fun melody, Four is good, also Eight/Nine
keep it up, and try spending a bit longer than 40 mins on each tune
well i shouldn't be speaking, i hardly ever finish stuff myself |
