anyone know why my winamp screws up tags?

sometimes my winamp 5(newest one) uses the v1 of the tag system, which doesnt support enough characters so my songs end up cut off, and when i check my v2 tag info its cut off just like v1

| on a similar note, can u turn off tags in "winamp 2.whatever the " they slow everything down, as it converts it from the name of the file to the tag name. is there any way to make it so it just shows the file name? |

I had the same problem
upgraded to 5.01 and its fine now |

One of the MANY reasons I don't use ID3 tags at all.
Try reinstalling. |

| Everyone of my MP3s are ID3 tagged, don't experience any problems. I've got a large collection too. |
