this is what someone says about
Cubase sz2.o
1. cubase sx 2.0 the best sequencer in the world, very complicated but once u learn to use its amazing what u can do. this is a professional tool and all the vst's that you could get makes the ultimate virtual studio. reason works with cubase, so any song you make in reason can go directly to cubase. its always better to start learning it now then later. trust me if u get serious about music making this is a must. i already switched to cubase from reason. most of my programs are vst which can be used in cubase as a virtual instrument. has everything reason has x100.
Now Question?
Is Reason with cubase sx 2.0 so much better or can you do just as much using it with any sequencer opposed to
cubase sx 2.0 also does anyone recommend any of these for trance
spectrasonics
arturia cs-80
steinberg groove agent
virsyn cube
sony soundforge 7
I myself feel you can already do a lot with Reason and with a sequencer as a rewire but is there something im missing with cubase?

Ok I have no idea what you're asking about :S I didn't understand a word of what you just said...
Arturia CS80 is allright, I haven't tried Spectrasonic and the others I haven't heard of before ...
But the BEST softsynth I have EVER tried for trance is RCGAudio Z3ta+ . It's like a software fusion between The Roland JP8080 and Access Virus :) Also, I reccomend Novation V-station. It's a great, but simple synth that produces amazing sounds. |

Its all a matter of personnal preference. I can do anything you cats can do on PT than you can do on Logic or Cubase, its just personnal preference. |

reason rewired into cubase gives you a stronger kick and thicker bass. I think it makes a world of difference when you do that. I'm really interested in Logic 6....just wish I knew someone who could teach me :(. |

Reason into cubase is a pain in the ass, not to mention a CPU drain.
The CS-80 is a great synth for special fx type stuff. If you're looking to get leads, then look somewhere else. Spectrasonics is a company, not a program. They make mostly sample packs. They have also done trilogy, atmosphere and stylus. Atmosphere is good, although it chews through the memory. Not much need for soundforge if you use Cubase, you can do editing in-house. |

not sure if thats all you'll need.. i use reason for all my drum tracks and basslines.. the step sequencer in reason kicks arse over most everything else i've tried (havn't used logic or cubase) but for melodies and fx, i have reason rewired to fruity.. sure, it does take up some pc.. i hardly notice it tho running a p4 3.2..
this just might be me not getting the most out of reason, but i find i can create much more dynamic and full leads out of the pro-53 then i can with any of the synths in reason.. that said i use reason for strings and pads.. reason is a really powerfull tool i think if you wire it up to something else.. also fruity's mixing bus is much better then reasons..
if you have the processing power, i say rewire it up baby :D |

Yeah i dont like rewire either id rather export to wav file
i never could figure out how to turn off the remote
for some reason its off then when i do a rewire when im trying to play an arp or pad with a vst ,im triggering kicks, hats and crashes in redrum.
Anyways i agree with a lot of you about using Reason with Cubase
or not its your option...whatever works sout for your tracks then do it.
but i must say the biggest downfall when i got reason was the fact that
you really cant make your own sound your own original sound with using a factory sound bank or some refill
i wish Reason came with a synth that allowed you to do this
thats why I use Reason with other Vsts
for my leads,Bass,Pads,Melodies etc
it feels so much more original and even in the demos
songs you see guys who just used like 10 Rex players and 10 N19
thats not original at all.
Dont get me wrong im in love with it im addicted to it but i mainly use it for the Composing ,and Arrangment, I would not make a whole track with it.
I agree with a lot of you that you can get much better synths from other Vsts that cost the same ,hardware or soft synths that cost less.

go to
(copy and paste)
home.wanadoo.nl/f.saleh
and download all the mp3 clips, they contain stuff from the substractor i made a while ago for fun.
am sorry, but you can be creative with substractor.
those are just basic stuff, i heard tons better things but ya you can't make the famous Supersaw like the JP, but why would i want something that everyone have? |
