I tried to download it mate but it keeps giving me error messages saying "cannot find mirror"

It's maybe the connection on my side :conf:

EDIT: now it works, will comment when finished :)

Checking it out now.

Expect, as always honest feedback :)

Glad to hear some more guys getting into production!

May I ask what you were using to produce it?

Edit:Review:-

Some of the leveling, on the kick appear to be clipping, especially on my headphones (better quality then my speakers). A bit more delay on the sonar like sound may sound better, or maybe the mids need more compression to make that sound high (either that or it's compression should be taken out of the mids a bit more).

I like your sound introductions.

The phrase before the melody is on it's own sounds a bit long like it doesn't need to be there(it's not building up/breaking down).

For a 10 min track it sounds like something is miss. It just doesn't really do too much, it sounds empty after the peak, but even before the peak sounds a bit empty like a few more layers need to be added, and it's just really small things/sounds that in my mind are missing.

I like the melody, bass line and chrous, don't get me wrong i'm not trying 2 write it off. :)

Reason is a really easy "sound bank" to pick. Listening to a track you can tell if it's been produced in reason (well a trained ear can anyhow).

Cubase is a bit harder to learn, but you'll get a far more unique sound out of it, which will make it stand out further.

But Reason vs Fruity; Reason :)

nice detailed review!

i'll take all those points into consideration

with the emptyness point I see what you mean, more layers for sure.. gonna work on it

thanks ;)

with regards to cubase.. i learned a bit of it at college and i can't say im the biggest fan of it, ill see how I go with reason

Lol, yeah forgot about what you did in college, whoops :)

My production app/studio of the moment is what Holden uses... www.buzzmachines.com it's not for everyone (it's a very technical app), but I love it :)

Hey Jace,

im liking it.
few things, it sounds very "naked Angel-ish" but maybe thats a good thing, just reminds me of the track thats all.

but yeah my main point is for a long track it sorta doesnt have a climax, you may want it to be like that, but its like anticipating something that never happens...

thats the feel i get.
i couldnt do better though hehe, thats my opinion as a listener :)

My thoughts and impressions randomly(keyword here:D) thrown down:

0-28: I like the percs(too loud tho). Congos/Rimshot, good. The kick is a bit "undefined" and muddy. It doesn't provide any drive, rather, everything is being driven by the percs and that congo/rimshot.

Okie, is the basslead that comes in @.29 the the sample basslead that comes from the Naked Angel remix comp? :D Either way, I like it. Reminds me of Naked Angel.:D

That little on beat congo/rimshot you have going with the kick I don't really like. I think you should fill the space it takes up with a better kick and maybe make the congo/rimshot off beat. I think with a better kick(one that fills up more head room)and an onbeat snare, this track would have alot more drive and oomph.

Ghostvoice vocals: Okay, these are out of the naked angel remix comp. Gives the track and eerie feeling.

The first breakdown comes @ 2:22 : The lead isen't really to my taste but I'm sure there are people who like it. I don't really like the buildup tho :( I was waiting for little pieces of the track to slowly come back in, like the percs, and that bassline! Instead it just hits you at 2:57 out of the blue.

Noteing the sweeps you use @ 2:58 and 3:20.

Overall,I don't like your choice of synths for this one, sorry:( The basslead/line is pretty good. And it's melody is good. But I'd work on another melody for your main lead. And fix that kick up. Also work on getting your levels and eq'ing right inside of FL instead of doing anything later in soundforge. From a mastering perspective, there's WAY to much in the mid, mid/high end. Keep at it tho! :D

Edit: Long post.:eyes:
