| If you like red wine... I recommend wines from 1998, or 1999. Cant go wrong with Italian red wines, from those 2 years. If you spend around $20 or more for a bottle, it's going to be good. I prefer a nice dry red wine with dinner, or before. Only thing I have a problem with is it putting me to sleep, if I am tired. Forget about it. Check out this link for my favourite wine... www.cesari-spa.it |

Wine isnt meant for being drunk. It sours in your stomach if you have too much cuz your body stops processing it. I only drank 4 bottles of wine ONCE and the next day of the purple death throes was enough. Although I have to admit that sticking my fingers down my throat and throwing up wine in front of all the kids who were in PE class was fun (Senior year highschool in front of dumbass freshmen :p ) |

Wine is not really meant for drinking 4 bottles at once lol.
The cultures that drink lots of wine as a food with meals have the lowest rates of alcohol dependence.
But, if you want to go for ghetto drunk, you can get a wine box:

I have been working at a bottle shop ("Liquor store") for about 4 months now and i still don't know very much about wine. :(
Basically, I think the main wine producing countries are Italy, France, Australia & California (I know, it's not a country).
I really don't know much about wine, but I know that Australian wine is pretty good, and moderately priced when you take into account the exchange rate (I'm biased :)).
A very good wine that I can recommend if you can find it is:
Taylors Shiraz (Australia). It won the London International Wine Competition Gold Medal for a Shiraz. Costs abotu AUS$12 here, so it wouldn''t be too expensive for Europeans or Brits I don't think.
P.S. What is with North Americans and this "Yellowtail" wine? My relatives from Canada came to stay with us over Christmas, and they were raving about it. They said it was the highest selling Australian wine in North America or something like that. Where I work, there are hundreds of different wines (predominantly Australian) and I have never heard of it before they told me about it.

Hey does anyone here drink Lambrusco?? That stuff is so nice.
Also, Verdi (Italy) is a nice, cheap sparkling wine.
Riccadonna is gold as well.
I suppose Italian wine really appeals to me...... |

red wine - cabernet sauvignon. not too fond of merlot
white wine - chardonnay, esp. from south africa. good stuff.
If you're feeling expensive, ice wine's also very good. Ones I had from Ontario were quite enjoyable. |

| The wines I love the most are Spanish wines from the "nueva rioja" area (with tempranillo grapes), Allende, Prado Rey Roble (and grand couve sp?), Marquez de caceres, Sumarroca, Robert mondavi from napa valley if I'm not mistaken (merlot, cabernet sauvingon sp? and chardonay). Dang I need to start going to tastings again, can't remember the frech wines names I like... o well |

yellow tail shiraz is the bomb, and at only $6.99 a bottle (750ml) its a good value too. they also make cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, a cabernet/ shiraz mix, and i think merlot too. the empty bottle of shiraz i have infront of me says that its from "south eastern australia"
i also like camelot pinot noir. thats from california, its another cheap but good wine IMHO. |
