| ok i use iTunes for my mp3 player on my computer. i absolutly love the visualizer that apple uses on this program. i know that the visualizations are created by the mp3s, but is there a way to run a visualizer from a live stream from my mixer, so that the visualizations are reacting to my mix? or is there another program that will do this. |

| The visualizer integrated into iTunes is a slightly modified version of a visualizer called G-Force. A stand-alone version that can visualize line-in, as well as versions of G-Force for all kinds of music players (Winamp, Sonique, WiMP, etc.), can be downloaded from http://www.55ware.com |

| If your playing something through winamp you can visit winamp.com and find a plugin... I use MilkDrop I think. |

thanks las3r, g-force is so much cooler than the regular visualizer. i havent messed with the settings and still working on the whole streaming audio thing, but thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
pr0digy, be careful with milkdrop. i used to use that plugin for winamp untill i found out it was spyware. |

WTF are you talking about spyware?
MilkDrop does not contain any spyware where is your source of this?
I have been involved in MilKDrop for 2 and a hlaf year now and know I haven't added any spyware compenets to it.
Please justify yourself.
Anyway the latest stuff is R4 and now with the new version of winamp I was going to start a thread about it. check it here.

| Yeah, I wasn't sure what he was saying about Milkdrop containing spyware, either. I suspect that somehow he was confusing Milkdrop with the WildTangent visualizers, which are notorious for being spyware. I personally prefer Milkdrop over G-Force, since it actually uses video acceleration and tends to run at higher framerates. In any case, I use Winamp for all my music visualization needs because there are so many good choices available for Winamp (AVS, Milkdrop, Tripex, R4, G-Force, etc.) |

i used to use milkdrop w/ winamp. one time i had to reformat my HD, and when i went to DL winamp and milkdrop, Nullsoft didnt have milkdrop or anyother plugins from the makers of milkdrop. they said they stopped hosting plugins from them because they all had spyware on them. that is the reason i got from Nullsoft who makes winamp. since then i havent checked on it and i think that was about a year ago, so i could be wrong.
las3rjock is totally correct, i thought wilkdrop was made by wildtangent
my mistake:( |
