question about vinyl??...

hey everyone,
ok just wondering...you know how sometimes people will know that there are oh...say 500 copies of an armin remix pressed or something like that...
is there any place or way to figure that kinda stuff out...i mean is there anywhere that one might look up to see how rare tunes are?? or at least how does this knowledge come about...magazine's...questions of the actual artist???
anyway, if someone could shed some light on that...that would be great...:D |

If you are refering to the armin remix of rapture:
There are 500 that have a sticker on them saying # of 500
But they fail to state the thousands of others that were pressed as white labels and distributed making it seem like they were part of the original pressings |

that would be nice. however, so many pressings usually happen it's hard to keep track. some websites even list release dates wrong, but thats another topic. oh....wait...i should ask that. |

TheTornado: i like the idea of that 'trance vinyl monthly' magazine idea. hehe it would be a tough job though, because there are so many small independent labels and whatnot, but it would be nice.
discogs is amazing, i love that service! it would be nice if people could also start adding a press count when they submit additions to the catalog.. that may be something to look into, although the reliability may be slightly tougher. i guess asking the labels would be one of the best ways.

how does discogs.com work? it's a great site, I use it all the time, they seem to have tonsa info that's fairly up to date considering all the artists/labels they cover
anyone kno how this works/how many ppl behind it? |
