Ok heres the deal,

when I had my old ty sound card it was always pissing me off due to the fact that programs used to dominate the windows volume controls

e.g.
When I changed the volume levels in a certain program it would change the "master volume" of the volume controls in the system tray.

well, anyway, I now own a Sound Blaster live BUT theres even one program which dominates still! :whip: :whip:

It just happens to be PowerDVD.

Now, PowerDVD is the one that one guy recommended for capturing frames and it is good for capturing and all but when it comes to volume i'm sorta after a DVD program that wont screw with the proper volume control.

whew........ if that makes sense... :nervous:

any suggestions?

interesting...

when i pop a DVD in, it starts automatically playing and it does hijack the sound, but if i close the program the sound goes back to its original level...

when i got my dvd rom i tested out PowerDVD vs. WinDVD and stuck with PowerDVD because it was superfriendly. try WinDVD, maybe you'll like it.
Mystre
I use powerdvd and i have no problems it changes the window master vol and it needs to be up higher than normal but i just make sure all other programs dotn have sound on like aim
