Ok, no ranting or anything but seriously, is it ok to say that producing a track you love could seriously screw over your social agenda for the next month ? Are any of you people here married ? How does the misses feel about you spending hours every night producing ? :)

I live with my girlfriend and she's fine with the fact that I produce and have other hobbies that she's not involved in. She works 40hrs a week and I go to school for like 9 hrs a week and just DJ for cash, so I have a lot of time to do my own stuff right now without her ever seeing it =P She loves trance and prog though so she likes my producing anyways.

my gf doesnt like it too much, i like to leave it on loop (i use fl studio) and i think it gets to her after lik 5 mins.. haha i usually do it when were apart, she always comes downstair and asks what im doing, when she undoubtedly knows its music, and i of course konw from that shes REALLY asking 'how much longer you going to be down here?' o well

You should look at this as a positive thing. It helps you keep the relationship breathing. I'm not joking either, a lot of couples get exhausted early on in the business, because they try to spend every day of the week together. Respect yourself, and your needs. If music is your passion, no woman is good enough to draw you away from it.

Just don't get any girls pregnant. Nothing will take you away from your music more then raising a kid, not that it isn't worth it, but I know from experience. Now though - Luckily my son loves trance and will play in the Studio while I'm working on tracks or dj'ing a set.

He loves tweaking Reason and playing with my synths too.

My girlfired, soon to be my wife, is alright with me making tracks. she like's trance sometimes more than I do I think.. The only problem i got is that the other day I had to go and buy her a midi controler, and set up cubase for her on my second computer, .. Not to mention giving her my delta 66 audio card... It's good in a way, cause she stay's out of my studio and i had a great excuse to get myself a rme audio card. .. but i can see myself fighting over whos' gonna use the virus for a track hehehe..

This is a good question mate. Personally I think it is a good thing to be harassed by the missus.. It keeps you balanced. Personally if I didnt have her to keep me in line, I would never leave this computer....

100% my story too :)
Now I really understand that we live in the same world and all humans are just the same!

My wife is not really into any kind of electronic music. So its really hard to get anything done when she is around. Since I started doing the live p.a. thing, she has become more interested in it though. But I think its good for balance. She snaps me back down to earth alot of the time.
