Is There anyway to remove or reduce the crackling sounds?

You obviously notice them when your playing (if your a vinyl jockey), but some are quite bearable...is there a way to remove those ones that sound...well awful??

Will it have something to do with the minor scratchs on the vinyls. Cause sometimes when i order a rare song from a online shop which incoprates the customer2customer sale, then usually the idiots on the other side don't take care of the vinyl and then they pass the over to me.

are you talking about those clicks you hear during a break or when very little sound is being played? if so, then no i dont think there is any way to change that live, but if your recording something i think you can get rid of them after youve reorded. use a program called 'wave corrector' just look for it on google or yahoo or something. you just load your recrding and and the program will scan for the clicks and take them out or reduce them to almost nothing. im not sure if its shareware or freeware or if it has any fees. good luck though-

the only thing you can do really is clean your vinyl. maybe try some groove glide. most of the time those little clicks and pops are just part of vinyl, and there isnt much you can do about them. i know there have been some threads on here about cleaning vinyl, alot of people use an alcohol/water mix in certain proportions, or there are cleaners you can buy.

just use lighter fluid to clean your records, works just as good as gruvglide and alot cheaper.

i use distilled water to clean off my records. does a very good job and reduces static very well. so simple yet so effective.

Hmm, some good suggestions in here. About the lighter fluid, does it not make your records smell? And what if theres a naked flame near your vinyl  heh
