Speaker problems

I recently moved all my stuff to a smaller room and I have three sets of speakers hooked up: 1 set is just normal stereo speakers, the second set is my nearfield monitors, and the third set is a thing of klipsch 5.1 speakers. ok now here's the problem:
whenever I turn on the 5.1 speakers, I get this hiss along wiht a high pitched whine and a very low hum like ground noise. It sounds a little like i've left it on an AM station of just static. Obvioulsy this is annoying as all hell. I've tried plugging the 5.1 amp into another socket, tried moving them away from the strong magnets of the monitors, and I've tried moving them away from the radio. also the other two sets of speakers get no noise whatsoever and even when the computer is off the noise continues so i know its probably not the computer/soundcard. There is alot of wires jumbled up and coiled but I tried uncoiling them all just in case it was somehow picking up a dead FM signal. Also this setup worked fine in my old place. This sucks. Please help me!
one other little bit that might help: whenever I switch the 5.1 setup to headphones, the hiss stops even in the headphones. |
