i currently am using one of these, and i have the outside input box contyroller thing hooked up, i think. i got this from my step-dad as a hand-down so i dont have all the instructions that came with it. so i printed out the ones the installation cd gave had and i read it for a few hours but it didnt help, it just told me how the connections should go, and i think im connected properly. im pretty sure all the settings were correct. i am only using 1 of the inside audio cables (actually inside the computer) when in fact there are 4 slots for them. but i know they are for use of the cd-rom as a cd player which i dont give a f about. all i want to do is use the aux2 rca inputs on my external input box for recording from my mixer. but everytime i try to record this way it doesnt detect the sound. then i have to convert the rca to a single headphone input and use it on my actual soundcard instead of the input box thing, which i only assume is dampering the sound quality. any ideas? sorry for lack of better terminology.

i changed the input to 'what you hear' and to the 'aux2' setting no luck, grrrrrrr help please-

Is the outbox connected to the soundcard? I have an old audigy and there exist a fat wire that connects between them. Make sure that's connected properly.

Next check the recording properties found in your volume control. Make sure you're selecting the right input for recording. (in this case aux2)

i had a similar problem with my sound blaster live (the line previous to the audigy). i remember that the PCI card worked fine and all of the jacks on it worked, but i couldnt get the input or output on the 5 1/4" drive to work. make sure you have current drivers. go to creative and see if there is a newer driver for that setup. once you've done that i thnk you have to go into audio HQ or the SB mixer and set those RCAs as the default line in.

scottaculous - yes the wires ar connected properly, and it was set to aux/2 and to 'what you hear' and to everything else, i tried it all. but its not that, i cant even get the monitor bars to show any evidence ofthe sound even reaching the computer....

vero - i did have the latest driver, but i havent looked recently, thanks for the idea ill check that out...
