He is the new signing of the FC Barcelona. Atm he has signed for the rest of the season with the possibility of 1 more year.
Is he a good signing?¿ he will be 31 years old on march... |

Overmars, Kluivert, Van Bronckhorst, Cocu, Reiziger, Davids. A fair few Dutch people there. Plus your manager (and his assistant) are Dutch.
He should fit in then. It'll be interesting to see how he does there.
I remember hearing about your derby with Espanyol in December. 4 goals in the first 30 minutes and 6 players sent off! What happened, was there a massive fight or something? |

It seems that the directive want remember past glourious seasons with Cruyff, Koeman or Neskens. Barça has always had a dutch flavour.

Hahaha I didn't watch the match but derbies have sth special, with a bit more agressivity than other matches.
Have you heard what happened with Barça - Madrid of the 2002-03 season?¿ Barça has to close the stadium two matches :nervous: ppl were crazy against Figo, Roberto Carlos... and they threw away a pig head and a J&B whiskey bottle a part of coins and lighters.:stongue: |

Yeah I remember that, I first heard about it in a bar in Las Ramblas. The news of the 2 match ban came the same day that we (Newcastle United) played you at the Nou Camp. The Catalans were generally friendly to us, although they didn't find chants of "Figo!", "who the are Barcelona?" and "viva Espana!" very funny :D
I watched your game against Real Madrid this season as well. Me and a few Spanish people (I'm studying Spanish) were trying to find a bar in Liverpool which would show the game, yet no pubs had it on! Eventually we found a bar with it on a big screen but it was nearly empty. We texted all the other Spanish people to say we'd found the game and 15 minutes later the pub was invaded by about 50 loud Spanish students, the barmen were pretty surprised :D The vast majority were behind Real but there were a couple from Valencia, Barcelona etc. There were also some who were fans of clubs like Valladolid, Murcia, Sevilla etc who hate Real more than Barca. Shame about the result, apparently that's the first time Real Madrid won in the Nou Camp for 20 years :(
My favourite Spanish game this year was Sevilla against Real Madrid ;) The Sevilla/Betis game was pretty good to watch as well. I don't support any particular team in the Primera, I'm going to keep watching the games every week and see which team I like the most, although I won't be a real 'supporter'. We only get 1 live Spanish game a week on TV here, every sunday. This Sunday they're showing Real Betis - Real Madrid. |

It's good can watch one spanish game a week, I would watch Premier games but here you have to pay for watch fereign leagues.
In the public TV you only can watch the Champions league games and one game a week of the Primera every Saturday. Tonight Barça - Atlethic Bilbao |

| The Spanish games aren't free here, they're on Sky Sports 1. But I know a pub which shows it every Sunday on a big screen so I go there with a few Spanish students (mostly Real Madrid fans and an Atletic Bilbao fan). |
