ragging on z103 around here is like flogging a dead horse, =P. as for the complaints that z103 calls tracks "new", it's not fair to rag on them about that either... not everyone is part of a trance (or EDM as everyone calls it these days, =P) community like this, so they don't get to hear about new tracks all the time. we've been hearing about ATRC for over a year now cause we keep up with what all the dj's are playing... as for z103, i doubt they recieved a promo or anything a year ago. in all fairness, z103 is pumping out new ... i guess it's just weird for us TAs cause we're always getting promos and stuff a year in advance... so it seems old... err... not that we download mp3s or anything...
if you don't like z103, don't listen to it, =P |

ATRC is a track that has easily crossed over, much like 'Angel', 'Childern', etc. But i'm not sure if you can place it in the same category as rapture or DJ Sammy...that stuff is pure crap.
G & D's original mix is a quality epic trancer which will probably get a lot of airplay now that everyone loves it so much . That'll probably turn a few of the fans who heard this track a long time ago away from it much like people who heard 'Rapture ( Deep dish mix )' and then got bombared by it constantly on radio.
Overplay might tire you of a track that would have otherwise been really good, but don't compare it to garbage that no one should be listening to in the first place. |

Cheapens the music... It doesn't cheapen the music - it gives it exposure to a whole new audience - playing it creates things (new audience, money for artist, exposure) not cheapens (lessens things).

| I must add notes to the first thread. Radio is going down. A survey said that the average age of radio listeners was between 30-50 years old! That's why one by one all the "young" radio stations (such as 93.5 or 107.9)are not on the air! Since Z103 is the only one left they have to figure out how to stay on top and that's by playing Trance. Trance music is taking over......................... |

You know, I've stopped listening to Z103 since like the summer 2 years ago, (I miss the ol good Hits 103 dot 5 and even MORE, PARTY 88.5 AND THE MOST I MISS ENERGY 108), so the only thing I listen to the radio nowadays, and I like it a lot, is my local radio station WAVE 94.7, which plays some really nice smooth jazz tunes, a lot of really dancy and classic tunes - great stuff! Otherwise - only online radio like ID&T and Party93.1.
Haha, pretty embarassing to hear Z play AS THE RUSH COMES IN (WRONG NAME, LMAO) as a NEW track (NEW??????????? WTF?????). That station is just getting worse and worse ... I just cant believe Z 103 fell that low ... truly humblesome. :wtf: |

sounds to me like many of you aren't too happy hearing ATRC or Nothing But You or even AVB's Yet Another Day...
radio play won't degrade a track. Radio play would actually catch the interest of many many new trancers. More n00bs, more hungry they are, more events that take place!
sure i would feel wierd having z103.5 bring in Gab and Dres at the docks for summer rush 2004 or i dunno... Armin for like euro invasion or something but overall what are the chances to hear your tranceaddict event advertised on the radio?
Lets take hiphop as an example.. we all know how commercial that is. It doesn't mean there aren't any underground hiphop artists: DJs and MCs.... They still exist, underground jams take place and so on and so forth.
Change is good.. finally all that cheese i have to go through when i go shopping wont be there and only the best would be pressed on vinyl IMO.
