I saw one of these on Ebay. Apparently they are some kind of "Special Edition" mkII's. The reserve never got met though, realllyyyy expensive I guess, as it was up to $800.. |

The 1s u can buy are about £750 each here but theyre not fully gold plated like the prize 1s, only the tonearm and edge of the platter are gold plated i think. |

btw, seeing the tech-arm in close up now, i really think it's butt ugly... i know, it's very efficient and that's what's important, but still... ugly ugly ugly :) |

The picture posted here is from an SL1200LTD, and it's NOT completely gold plated. Only the tonearm and the platter rim and dot's are gold plated, the case is in piano black finish (like the Mk5G). Technics stated that 10000 units of the LTD were made. And if you wonder, it was pre m3d, so technically the LTD was the first one to have the quartz reset.
There are completely gold plated (and so is the mixer). They are only destined for the world champion of the DMC championship, and they are nothing more than mk2's.
The second and third prize are silver and bronze plated mixers

Normally those models are not for sale, but I can imagine multiple champions like Dj Craze could sell their "overstock" on ebay if they wanted. |
