The future of p2p
View this Thread in Original format
GarlicBread
Hi, I'm a student in the UK studying for a degree in Music Technology. I'm currently writing a thesis on how the internet has effected the music industry and the future of p2p (peer-to-peer) networks.

As part of this work I am conducting a survey of p2p users - the questions are designed to seek the opinions of the people who share and download music. The results of which will be presented to music industry companies and officials.

If you are a p2p user, and would like to aid an independent study of internet user's opinions - please fill in my quick survey. You WILL NOT have to give your name, email address, location or any other personal information.

This is your chance to have your say on the ongoing argument.

The address is http://haveyoursay.zor.org

Many thanks,

Andy.

may be of use to you, its a poll on mp3 downloads
whiskers
done.

see, with paid music, i'd rather not pay for an album in mp3, i'd rather get a CD

but if it's only 1 song i like (and it's likely that i'll also like the whole artist cd), i don't think i should pay for that.

yeah exactly
and some artists just aren't good enough for me to pay for their CDs, they should thank me for downloading their music and getting other people to know it, cause then maybe one of them will buy it by accident (i just just going through my stuff and i found my scooter CD i downloaded a lil while back :p)

I was expecting the survey to be host on a page like /http://www.riaa.org/lawsuit/survey.html

I'll check it out, prolly fill it out, even though I stopped p2p way back.

**edit**

are you going to be changing up the questions at all in that study? I see some flaws already with some closed ended questions.

just want to add this:
i would be off buying more cds if it was possible but here in barcelona i have jet to find a shop that sells trance cds. If i download a song i like from another artist (like blink 182) then i will go out and buy their album.
