David Hookes dead after pub melee
"Former Australian Test cricketer David Hookes has died in hospital from head injuries suffered when he was bashed in a scuffle outside a Melbourne hotel on Sunday night."

I heard on the grapevine that the bouncer who was charged with the assault was also allegedly on a similar charge pending from another hotel where he works/ed |

| Apparently they (Hooks and a some other victorian/SA cricketers) had walked away, they were three streets away from the bar, but the bouncers followed them and bashed them for the heck of it. |

Very sad news, from what I have heard from the news he was only hit once but badly hit his head on the ground when he fell.
They should press charges against the establishment too if they hired him and he already had a pending charge also on him.
That should hopefully set precedent so that nightclub/pubs/etc hire reponsible crowd controllers not just thugs with big egos on a powertrip who would not be employable anywhere else. |

| I hope this leads to an inquest into the whole entertainment security industry... I very much doubt David is the first person to be seriously injured or killed by a bouncer. |

apparently the maximum jail term the bouncer can get is 5 years! BS. |
