I really feel that I'm at the point in my life/music career that I want to take a big jump.I feel that my latest track is turning out to be my best yet. Although I still need to finish it up, I have 4 minutes of it done including the breakdown. It's a prog trancer at 132 bpm. I just need to finish up the buildup, final verse, and outtro. Which are all floating nicely around in my head right now until I get time in the Studio to record them.

How do I go about finding a good local mastering Studio/engineer? I can output my projects to seperate tracks and burn to CD. I want to make sure that this is a pro engineer that has done other local trance tracks (Josh Gabriel is a SF local and I would like to find his engineer).

If I press white labels how do I get some limited distrubution?

I'm not looking to make money here, in fact I fully expect to loose money on this, I just want to get this track out to be heard.

Thanks for anyone that can point me in the right direction.

just a thought but why not knock the track up on CDR instead of vinyl, as pressing costs will ultimately be a lot cheaper and most DJs have some CDs in their bag these days.

Well it would be cheaper all round to promote with CD-Rs, but nothing like good old vinyl. I guess its up to you, good luck :)

A quick google search WILL allow you to locate such facilities. Generally mastering costs 100 bucks / hour, and most tracks take around an hour. This may vary, but thats a ballpark price.

Pressing vinyls is a fairly envolved process and will cost you about 1000 bucks for 1000 white label vinyls, and 2000 with covers. Around there.

Promoting on CD-R would probably be the best for your first track. Even posting previews of it on TA here might get it around. Sean here is a DJ, give him a shout.
