DJs that compare to DJ Micro

out of all the trance I've listened to, I can't get over on how Micro's Tech mix cd is the best compiled one of em all, imo. And I've been searching for someone who is comparable to that style. I've got a lot of random tracks from others and really havn't bought a cd besides his and the next time I tried to buy a new artist, it sucked and was like a kid made up his mix on fruityloops. anyhow, you guys know your stuff, what da ya recommend?

Ok first off, what a bunch of lame ass replies from Matt Jay. If you have no idea what this dude is talking about why reply at all. DJ Micro made a few mix cds in the Tech Mix Series(Tech Mix, Tech Mix v2, and Tech Mix 2000).

Now back to the orignal poster... I would say if you like his sound stick with him. Check out amazon.com and read what people have to say about his other mix cds. I did a quick search and he has a bunch of other cds not in the tech mix series.

Also if you say you liked the first one the most (which I agree with) then you want to stick to trance that has a harder, techier sound. It seemed to me that his other Tech Mixes leaned more towards standard melodic trance stuff and away from his harder sound in the first tech mix cd. If you like his sound before he changed into a more generic trance sound (IMO) then try his CD Coast to Coast or Caffeine: The Natural Stimulant. I have never heard either of them but he made them before Tech Mix I believe.

Another thought is to look for music (either mix cds or albums) by some of the artists (or remixers if the track is a remix) that did your favorite tracks on Tech Mix.

I hope this helps.

PS - Ok, so I was reading what people have been saying on Amazon and have decided that they are a bunch of wankers (except a select few).

Chill the out eh?

I replied so I can find out what he is talking about.
I've heard of DJ Micro before but not the mentioned tech mixes

Is it really too much to ask???

I've got the Micro Tech-Mix Live. I'll check out that caffine album though.

I'm checkin out those songs listed above too. thank guys

Well if you like his Tech Mix Live, it is sort of stuff he was spinning after he started doing more straight trance (compared to the harder, techy, acid, breaks stuff he did before) so I would say maybe get Tech Mix 2 or Tech Mix 2000 or even My Frequency if you want a newer album. I would think that any of his CDs from about 1998 and after would have what you want.

how about artists or tracks with the similar style? as micro?

I'm basically looking for something with a melody and stuff that has the hard techier sound.

tracks that are so damn simple in that they don't differ throughout it are what I don't like.

songs that have something to them like a journey(idk how else to explain it) like it's not something a robot made.

well I'm sure somebody knows what I'm thinkin.

Check out Atomic Babies - Breuklen Heightz album..its got a lot of techier/ techno-ish tracks you may enjoy.

Luke Slater also did some minimalist techno you might enjoy as well. Check out his album wireless & Freek Funk. its pretty gritty though.

More techy stuff , pretty much anything by Marco V or Mauro Picotto may float your boat as well.

I am going to agree with what Mebot said.

The problem is I can't really think of a DJ quite like Micro. I can think of DJ's who play more techy stuff (Marco V and Mauro Picotto) but in the end I think you will find they are not nearly as melodic as Micro. Of course people say Tiesto sometimes plays techy stuff but you will not notice it much on his mix CDs.
