Turning Default Hyperlink Formatting Off

I'd pos tthsi inthe questions forum, but no-one ever goe sin there apart from to ask more questions. ill delete once its sorted.
anyway, how do i turn off the blue and purple auto-formatting of hyperlinks in HTML?
i thought it was something like:
linkcolor=#FFFFFF alinkcolor=#FFFFFF vlinkcolor=#FFFFFF in the body tag, but no luck so far.
any help appreciated.

try puttin this in between ur tags:

actually.. no need to modify anything :)
that code will also enable underlining of text when u hover ur mouse button over it :)
