could somebody post the differences between the mk2 and the original cdj1000?
I've heard that the original is better, and that they got rid of some features on the mk2?
Raptor
the platter on the mk2 is the same platter from the 800. its more accurate.

I cant seem to find that anywhere on the site...?
Dzokayi
the site seems to be having problems... check again later, there's a product comparison chart with a table that lists all the features of all the models, side by side.

From memory, the MK2 comes with an MMC, and has +/- 100% pitch adjustment, and some fine-tuning to the scratching algorithm - no delay when scratching jsut after a hot-cue or somesuch... and the center jog-dial display has a cue mark point like the CDJ800. Oh, and a niftly little chrome ring around the jog dial.... and brighter buttons and displays.... and...

Here it is, in PDF format.

hmmm, according to that document, the only difference is that the MK2 has +/- 100% master tempo.

The lights are definitely brighter, and there was a certain situation in which there would be a delay when scratching from hot cues or something like that, which was rectified on the MK2. If you search the forums (digital vinyl turntable) there you'll see several threads detailing all the differences.

Instant scratching when cueing a song, looping, jumping to a hot-cue, or playing a track in reverse.

The Center Display Cue Monitor shows the cue point in relation to the jog dial's location, much like pen or tape markers that DJs might use on vinyl records.

+/- 100% pitch adjustment

Fully functional digital out (including scratching & master tempo)

Extra bright illuminated display.

In addition to the other things I mentioned.

Cheers...

Hey I am just wondering, is there a button somewhere on the CDJ-1000MKII that makes that platter spin with the CD? Or the platter is just not capable of spinning with the CD?

Dzokayi
platter spins, but is not motorized....

Ah, "motorized" is the word I was missing from my question. Well that's just CRAPPY. I have 2x Pioneer CDJ-1000MKII's and I am disappointed by the fact that the platters are not motorized. I can't "feel" the record anymore... :(

What about the latest Denon CD deck? Does the platter on it spin? And how about that latest CDX from Numark, does it spin with the CD?
