I try not to comit to the viewpoint the media is trying to instill, or at least not to [pass judgement until i'm more familiar with the facts. Who knows what other evidence will turn up. Maybe the mother tortured and sexually abused him for years... not that it justifies his actions, but if that was part of the article you would probably have reacted differently. The point is: any one article usually doesn't give the full story and these days the media (perhaps "60 minutes" is the archetypal example of the crappy state journalism is in) is aimed largely at the people who will instantly react with emotion. |
