Hey guys, be sure and vote in the primaries in your state and help pick Bush's opponent.
John Edwards is the only Democrat imo who can beat Bush. A few weeks ago I would have said Wesly Clark, but he's not doing as well now.
John Edwards is a great uplifting orator, and we need someone from the South on the ticket. At the very least we must win Florida.
Edwards:

Clark:

I like John Kerry too, but he wouldn't do as well in the South and Midwest at the top of the ticket. He would make a good VP though imo.

I checked with my friend and it turns out I was a little off. It's more like this...
First off if you make from $0-infinity you're going to be paying for the debt. In some ways you already are.
When the federal gov. runs low on $ they cut money going to the states. When state government runs out they start cutting money from education for teachers and stuff. This how we all wind up in crowded classrooms AND get college tution hikes semester after semester after semester... :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:
The debt works just like a GIANT credit card. That means we're spending BILLIONS of YOUR TAX DOLLARS on nothing but interest. Instead of paying down the deficit Bush and the republicans are spending BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS on stupid stuff like Dick Cheney's Halliburton (over charging the Army on gasoline in Iraq) and big tax cuts for corporations & the wealthy. Now he wants to make those tax cuts permanent. :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop:
When Clinton was here he paid DOWN the deficit. He spent BILLIONS on education and tech. While he was here he generated 20.8 million new jobs. More than Bush & Reagan combined. So if you like jobs and education and don't like handing BILLIONS of tax dollars to rich people and oil companies VOTE FOR ANYONE BUT BUSH :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: |
I was listening to an economist on NPR, and he said the only way to pay down the debt and ensure social security's future is to raise taxes on the rich back to what they were paying some decades ago.
Repblicans don't seem to care about the rest of us, and they only seem to care about millionaires and companies like Enron.
This is a direct quote from Cheney:
"Reagan proved that deficits don't matter." |

more importantly a democrat. voting for an independant, even as good as they might sound, if there is one....will just give your vote away. |
I agree Lisa. I like Ralph Nader, but his votes cost Al Gore several states last election.
John Edwards or maybe even Kerry are a much stronger candidates this time around than Al Gore though. ;)
Let's leave 3rd party politics to the local level or perhaps the House of Representatives. We have to face the fact that the Presidency (and Senate) will probably always be a two-party race.
That also brings up the importance of the House and Senate. We need to win those back too. :P
Many conservatives are pissed off at Bush because of his spending. He's increased government spending to levels that double LBJ's or any democrat in history. All the democratic voters will be out in force against Bush this time though!:D |

^^ Yeah man, everyone was happy with the way 9/11 turned out but we never caught Osama Bin Laden. Instead we went to totally different route. Saddam and Osama where never likend together. Osama called Saddam a Devil :haha: :haha:
Now we had all these Soldeirs die and now we are gonna get stuck with this huge ass 80 Billion dollers bill :wtf: :wtf:
I for my winning pick on running for President goes to John Kerry. He is doing great and he owns Iowa now
  |

Ideologically, I'm also closest to John Kerry. Edwards and Kerry I think are both pretty similar though in their beliefs.
The only thing is, I can hardly wait until the Republicans start playing ads in the Midwest and South. "John Kerry supports gay marriage." And they'll show him redecorating a room or something. :nervous: :whip: :disbelief

I seriously hope with all the schooling I'm going through that I will at least make well over 100,000 a year. If not then I want a refund for all the hell I'm going through right now :stongue: .
But I have always been democratic. I just turned 18 for the 2000 election and voted Gore. Even though of course Bush won Texas, it was pretty whicked to be apart of the voting process.
VOTE!!!!!!! |

In the South I would never vote for a Republican, because they are all "Dixiecrats" that have swtiched parties. Jessie Helms, Strom Thurmond, and Trent Lott come to mind. There are some decent Republicans in the Northeast though and John McCain of Arizona is a great guy too. But overall I'm a progressive. Cube, even if I were a millionaire I don't think I could vote for Bush because I still have a conscience.
Check this electoral college map to see what different states must be won to win the White House:

Damn Clinton kicked some ass, but Gore was not a very strong candidate. We have better candidates this time though. :) Make no mistake Bush is beatable. |

| After Bush gave his state of the union last week, there was a Democrat that came to speak live aftewards. Anyone catch who this guy was? He spoke for about 10 minutes straight in front of the camera and had lots of really good things to say. |

Tom Daschle. He did a pretty good job with his speech. Nancy Pelosi really blew. Plus she seemed as characterable as a twig ... and none too prettier either. |
