| after my gf breaking up with me. And walking the streets each day looking for a job. to come home to cook myself dinner. I'm extremely depressed and i guess just lonely... Gonna try it up here a few more weeks when my dog arrives maybe it will be better. NYC its a great place to live lots of good music not only electronic but classical aswell. Lots of good food. And to be honest i like the cold weather. But when you have noone close to you to share these things with its really ing lonely. I miss sitting on my surfboard talking with my friends. Or playing roller hockey, then going out for drinks smelling like sweat. |

| All i can say is give it another shot. Just gotta meet more people over here. Maybe you will feel better when your dog gets here and trust me, the cold weather gets to be a pain in the ass. If you still feel the same after a couple of weeks then maybe you should be their with your friends. You left alot behind man it's not weird that you're feeling this way. |

Sorry to hear about your girl situation.
However, realize this: there are more interesting people in NYC than in all over the world, and a little more than half of those interesting people are women. Do you realize...like seriously, DO YOU REALIZE HOW MANY WOMEN ARE LIVING WITHIN THE TRI-STATE AREA?? You're gonna let one girl, one relationship, one part of your life affect you like this? Dude...you overcame the hard part: actually getting to the city. The rest is a cakewalk. Take full advantage of what you have in your grasp and there will be a great chance that you'll have another relationship that will be even better than what you had.

All these things happen in life for a reason, so learn from it!!
Life has its ups and downs, but like jayme said nyc is a great place to meet lots of interesting people, you just have to give it some time for things to work out and trust me in about couple of months you will think differently.
But change your attitude and go with the "who cares" attitude dont hope for nothing!!! just let things work out and enjoy it
and dont forget to keep in touch with your friends down in fl, call them up and chat up i am sure that will make you feel better

Im gonna be honest, do you think going back to FL is gonna make anything better? Ok, you have your friends there, but chances are your ex isnt waiting around for you to come back to FL. Secondly, your judging NY with only just an extremely short time here. Anytime you move to a new place, its always difficult because you practically have to lead a new life. The only mistake you made was coming to NY without money... This is one of the most expensive cities to live in, which you probably already know, and yes finding a job is difficult, but you cant just give up. If you do, what does that say about you - that you frown in a time of adversity. I understand the girl situation is difficult, I can sympathize with the lonliness because Ive been single forever and I do want to find a companion, but there is too much life to live to let being lonely consume me.
If you need a friend in Brooklyn, dont be afraid to holla, Id be happy to hang out with you - with spending little money. |
