Supporting a team in a different country (Football)

Its very popular to support a team in a diffferent country, but can you really have the same bond to a squad that you for example never have seen live but only on tv?

I understand that people like the best teams, since they play the most attractive football. I like some foreign teams but its mostly related to players there that I admire. To me it can never be the same as my love for my "own" team which I have supported since birth.

What do you guys think?

Yeah i support Liverpool as well, but i agree that you can't really support them properly unless you go to the games.

I support Australia in Rubgy and Cricket, and I LOVE my local rubgy league team (ST George Dragons).
