2- Who likes him?

IMO he's a better producer than a DJ ...
j@y
i dont know but he seems to be bored as hell when he his spinning

last night i think i didnt saw him groove to the beat even one second

he had one hand on his jean pocket and wasnt moving at all

i was like ...damn how his he able to be like this ,if i was spinning at aria i would be on fiya!!!!!

Mateo is a very talented producer and also a good dj. He's maybe not playing 3 turntables all the time and jumping behind the decks but he got a different philosophy of mixing and i know many people that like him.

He maybe look more passive but i strongly believe that he has a big passion for what he's doing. no matter how he show it to the people.
he's a little more introvert than you but IMO he's ing good :)
detective you
i dont like him that much, but i have to say that the end of his set last night was quite good...but man, it was wayyy better when Yaz entered....and even more when you (Preach) did....;)
mastercongo
i like the tracks he plays and his productions, eve if he doesnt look like he has fun behind the decks.

i do not understand the ta's cause for example last night, he played tracks that have been mentioned on the top lists.

pual mac - cards on the table
monike kruse - funk frequenz
chris liebing - american madness

etc.

plus jpx, i have seen you twice at aria. how many times have you seen him play.

seems like all you guys peurf squad, always agree in the same thing when it comes to not liking something :P.

mateo is a super reserved guy. He's not the type to jump, roll over and do a backward flip.

does a dj needs to do that?

again..........a thread that turns away from the main subject bashing what the thread is all about

moi je pense que oui , la presence dun dj est tres importante
ca fai party de lensemble du show et c'est bien mieu (et je pense pas que la jai besoin de dire d'apres moi pour pas offenser personne)quand le dj a un charisme sur les tables

Kate Manus
I like Mateo!

He's not my fav. resident.. *cough* Preach .. and Marco G.. *cough*
but you won't see me complain that he's on the bill for the night.. unlike another resident or two. He's a dope producer, and he seems like a super chill guy.:happy2:

I think we're a little spoiled in Montreal to have so many dope djs & producers, not just at Aria, Montreal as a whole.. everyone is entitled to their opinion, so I don't expect him to appeal to everyone.. but I think he's da shiznit. I hope 2004 brings him more international recognition, beyond his producing.
His upcoming set with Richie should be dope too.
rongerabbit
His productions are really good.

Check out his latest
Kiko - Euro 2003 (Mateo Murphy Remix)

As for his live sets, he's a passive dj, but his tracklistings are still amazing.
Just cuz a dj doesn't jump up and down hands in the air doesn't mean he's not good.
