What is the difference between analog and digital mixer ?
Vero
analog owns!

digital mixers usually have alot of effects and samplers which are cool. but most of the really high end mixers (rane and i think A&H are too) are analog.

I am planning on purchasing a Pioneer DJM-3000 which i think is digital since it has digital output.

major differance is that digital is the future and analouge will be fazed out.
analoge is the true wave form of the music traveling through all the components meaning the sound is EXACTLY what it should be.
digital splits the sound into a binary format meaning there are small errors in the sound as the square wave created is an aproxamation of the analouge one.

this sounds backwards as why would you prefer the aproxamate wave rather than the true wave?

this is because if you ever decide to delve into signal processing digital is a billion times easyer! hence there are better thechnology available and more funky effecs for digital. the top end mixers are still analoge as the companys are only just realising the potental that digital has.

give a couple of years they will all be digital....

or made using valves as sound quality is amazing!
