Regarding Seagal movies. I enjoyed his first 4, Above The Law, Hard To Kill, Marked For Death and Out For Justice. I found "Hard To Kill" ridiculously entertaining. Yes, it's ultra cheesy but that's part of the fun. I enjoyed Under Siege as well, but did not think it was any better than the earlier Marked For Death. On Deadly Ground, I really didn't understand all the negative criticism surrounding this, I've seen so much worse than it. I actually enjoyed the sequel to Under Siege better than the first (Katherine Heigl...mmmmm). But The Glimmer Man with Keenen Ivory Wayans was horrible, Fire Down Below was watchable enough once but no more from my point of view, The Patriot was pretty boring. Enjoyed Exit Wounds, which was a bit of surprise. But it's all downhill, Half Past Dead was flat out , The Foreigner was no better either. Out For A Kill and Belly Of The Beast are just pretty standard action straight to video B-movies.
I'm discounting Executive Decision and Ticker here, as he didn't play the lead in either of them.
But yes, I still enjoy his early movies. In general though I enjoy mindless action flicks where the good guys always win. :D |

Another problem I have with this film.. the cavemen people saying stuff like "that was easy as cake". Erm, werent you just eating a rat in the opening scenes? Do you even know what cake is? Better yet, how about a group of cavemen learning to fly Marine Harriers in a matter of hours, then bombing the alien oppressors with thousand year old ordinance... oy! *slaps head* |
The plot was disjointed, the science was viel shaky, and John Travolta's acting in that movie was outright ABYSMAL. Worst movie I've ever seen... I mean, how does one nuke... one SMALL nuke... wipe out an entire planet? And radiation isn't an element, so it cannot react with gas... although a nuke could react with hydrogen, which the "breathing gas" obviously wasn't because if it was they'd all have high-pitched voices... I could go through the entire script and refute the whole God-damned thing :rolleyes: Fer feck's sakes, even PlanetShip (a project I'm working on at the mo) is better than THAT :haha: |

I don't think they were setting out to win Oscars with Freddy :rolleyes: I thought it was funny.
No argument on the second though. Good rule of thumb: Steven Seagal and Chuck Norris suck. :p |

Norris ruled in Return Of The Dragon. The last duel with Bruce Lee is classic ;).
