Under the Bridge Party

I was reading in DJ Times about how Moby was inspired to write many of the songs on his new album from a party he attended that was thrown under a bridge.
I'm considering throwing one, just cuz the inland empire doesn't have an EDM scene anymore since the shutdown of the Masterdome. My idea is to have it in a storm drain in San Bernardino away from the residential area. A few problems would be where people would park so as not to attract attention. I'm just curious if people have ever heard of anything like this or if they have any suggestions in relation to a party such as this. |

I always wondered how parties like these get electricity.
My buddies wanna throw one in a desert, but I was all like dude, where to get the juice. |

You can rent a generator which converts gasoline into electricity.
I've never even heard Moby's album, I don't particularly like his music, but the article was good for an idea. |

generators suck. thats what I thought you'd use though.....
noisy gas guzzlin pieces o poo...but hey, if they can power all the equipment, rock on. |

anyhow generators for the most part i believe use diesel which is actually pretty affordable as long as you know somebody who has the connection on one. how else do you expect a party under a bridge or in a desert to get powered.
also I think it was Steve Lawler who made storm sewers a big thing in Germany. inside his first Nubreed album in the cover theres a short auto biography about him and how he came up explaining about this.
I think its a pretty reasonable thing, as long as it is a sewer that doesnt reek of . |

| Well in Southern Cali, it's usually dry and hot most of the year and so rarely fill our storm drain. I talked to a few DJs last night that said they'd be willing to spin, so now I just have to go down there and check it out, before I start spreading the word. |

| Thanks DJ Woody and Justin, the main thing I need from you guys is to get the word out, I'd like to have more than 5 people. BUT definately, I'd love to have more DJs, if anyone in SOCAL wants to spin at this thing let me know and I will put you in the lineup. I can't guarantee the thing won't get shutdown in a few hours, but I think it's worth a shot. |

| Ok the two bridges I checked out last night have huge NO Trespassing signs on the fences all around, so I will have to check other ones. Also I have a friend that said there's an empty campground up around Cal State San Bernardino, I'm gonna check out that place, but I've also heard Sylvan Park across the street from the University of Redlands has had all day parties up until pretty late at night without getting shutdown, that park has little hills that deaden the sound from the residential area around it. Another place I'm considering is Forest Falls up in the San Bernardino mountains. So please be patient with me guys, when I find a decent venue I will definately start a new thread and let everyone know about it since I have a feeling this one is gonna fall to the bottom. |
