It was fricken awesome, but I didn't like the high end distortion on "Holding on to NOthing." I liked the fact that it was hard, loved Another Way, and Blue Monday, Crush, and even TOOL was tight to hear in a packed Avalon.

i dunno bout u guys but i found alot of short uplifting sets when PVD was playing. when the vibe was rite, he cut it off abruptly making everyone stop dancing. i've seen him doing this through out the nite aka a bit disappointed but i'm glad i made it. nice crowds n da chix kicked ass as usual.:whip:

no way dude..the crowd never stopped dancing and the enegry was ****in amazing in his set. he ****in rocked the house....PVD style.

PVD could have done better than what he did yesterday. i say dis cuz his gigs in berlin n luxemburg are unmatched. nuff said

The sets he does in LA are always different from the ones he does in other cities. All you have to do is listen to the recorded sets that are out there and you can tell almost immediately. The 6 hour sets he does in New York are absolutely amazing but needless to say, I enjoyed this last set. Can't wait for his 6 hour set at Space in WMC and of course Ultra!!

Usually DJ's play different sets according to where they are playing. For example if they ar5e playing for a gay crowd they drop a totaly different style, at a rave totally different once again, if they are at a city that likes harder...they will play harder...i always say leave it up to the DJ to make the vibe...they sure as hell know what they are doing. like i said i have Hundreds of live sets from ONLY PVD and this set was just amazing to me because it was different.

The vibe was different that's for sure. One of the previous posts about him kind of killing the mood when people were dancing is true imo...his song selection felt kind of abupt and random at times, often times swinging from a harder, darker edge to an uplifting one and back again. It was quite refreshing to hear new tunes, but at the same time I don't think his set flowed too well.
