| damn, i love my dog, i really do. his name is bo. hes bad ass. couldnt ask for a better dog. he always just lays under my tables when i spin, unless the bass is turned up. but his damn hair is always floating around and landing on my vinyl:whip:. i have some pretty expensive equip too. its impossible to keep it hair free in my basement (where my setup is). anyone else have this problem? |

| I have the exact same problem, it doesnt even matter if im not spinning, the room will nevertheless be filled up with dog hair. I always try to vaccum as often as i can, and try to comb your dog also very often too. No really good way to get rid of ALL that hair, but at least some ;) Also depends on what dog breed you have, i have short hair lab so it isnt that much hair, though still plenty to land on my vinyl :whip: |

| my dog is a short haired lab, a white lab. will be 3 in february. i think he likes trance more than drum n bass. haha. he usually goes upstairs or to the opposite end of the room on a couch when i start mixing dnb. i think its just cause the bass is too extreme for him (considering his head is laying on the ground as he is resting), if you feel the ground when bass hits you can feel a physical vibration very easily. oh well, i enjoy both genres of mixing, hell just have to deal with it. :happy2: |

| get a cloth that's fairly static-free and wipe the records before you play them...other than that...don't let the dog down there? |

| its a decently big basement, my 2 bros have stuff down here (they are my roomates in my house) so i cant do that. besides its impossible. no where is safe from dog hair if there is an indoor dog, unless it doesnt shed, which would be strange for a dog not to shed its hair... i dunno. i guess im just ranting and raving cause im bored and have been keying and recording all my vinyl and have nothing better to do at the computer currently, than to just rant and rave. |

so ur saying you dont cover up your TTs when u not using them???
i keep all my covered with a towel...that way my tts and mixer dont attract fur from my damn roomates cat nor do i have to worry about dust collecting.....
keeps em nice and clean......
just a thought though |

| oh i cover them alright. its useless though. the hair ALWAYS finds a way. i dont know how. i remember my brothers phone had a piece of doh hair in the display. between the plastic covering his display screen and his actualy display screen, it was very annoying looking with a big white dog hair right in the middle of its screen. |

I have 3 cats who love to come in when i spin. In my room with the equipment, i use a air cleaner that is on 24/7. Just before i mix compressed air is used to blow off all equipment. Also the room is vaccumed twice a week and wet mopped once.

my cat does this too, she loves to just hang out on the floor behind the decks! i don't have too much of a problem though, i just wipe the vinyl off everytime i play, and leave the covers on the decks whn i am not there.
i have never once cleaned my mixer in almost two years of solid use. |
