I went and watched it. Nothing to write home about... The movie makes an insincere attempt at being deep and the plot isn't exactly genius, but most movies don't have the best of plots. It was fairly engaging I suppose. I didn't feel like I totally wasted my money.

I didn't think the acting was that bad though... maybe hyperbolic but in case you were to dense to notice, the whole movie was like that. I would point at poor scripting rather than acting.

i rather liked it

*SPOILERS**

although the super-happy hollywood ending kinda bugged me... i'd rather have it end without the "4 years later" part so that i could still believe that he was, in fact, in a psychiatric hospital and that he really was trying to cope with what he has done and at the end figured it out... so that it didn't actually end with what everyone else thought it did.

and as for the psychology part... yeah :haha:

you know what i really liked about this movie? an obscure reference to john doe, the guy from se7en, which they were watching in the movie theather when kelly's brother freaked out.

john doe kept a load of composition notebooks too, talking about his life...

I think that's somewhat of an easter egg, considering the coincidence of them going to watch se7en.

I haven't seen this movie, but I saw Monster and it was really good.

Even though the premise has been done before plenty of times, this movie could of still been much better than it was. I'm sure it sounded really good when it was pitched, but unfortunatly the movie was badly casted. The younger versions of the characters either couldn't act or were badly directed.. With a story like this and all of the extreamly dark subplots in the story, good acting is essential. We should be offended by what the characters have gone through not what we have gone through in the movie itself since afterall, we aren't part of the story. If acted better, it would've more than likely have been more the other way around. The only person who made the story worthwhile was Amy Smart whom did a great job and actually seemed to be the only person in the story who could act.

There were other flaws in the story itself other than the acting, yet better casting could've probably made it better. It's a shame, such a missed oppertunity...

For a much better movie about time travel, definitly check out "Donnie Darko".

I thought it was a good film with an interesting concept. The first half was great but was let down by it becoming to obvious what was going to happen.

The trailer song for Garden State was :eyespop:.

If anyone is interested, it's called "Let Go" by Frou Frou.
