I have a question. How do you make your own music? Do u need special equipment or software?
DJ FireWire
Yes.

Now, someone who knows a lot about music, please explain in more detail to that guy what he needs to know.

the production forum would probably be more help than the dj booth. the equipment needed to make your own music can start from a basic home computer to endless addons. by using a computer to record or create the beats and different 'soft' (a synth on your computer) and 'hard' (a synth that is a piece of hardware that plugs into your computer) and various midi controlers, effects procesors, and usually a bag of weed, you layer them, and master them or whatnot. there is no requirement for making music really besides just a computer, but of course the more stuff you use and get the more options youll have to work with. i spose you dont even need a computer, just a tape recorder, work with your "oon tss oon tss" verbal patterns. then work on vocalizing synths and record them all onto a tape and play it back, thats how the pros do it. :stongue:

hahahah classic!!! someone should try it and call the song 'unplugged' or something :)

back to the original post, i have done some remixes and productions, and ive used my laptop for everything. before one production though i experimented some tunes on a keyboard, but every sample i created and used with my computer. technically you could use the 1000s of hardware and software applications to get a combination of effects.. but a computer is all you need.. try logic or ACID pro.. hell, even fruityloops

Damn... that's a biiiig question.

Yes you need a lot of stuff to make music, or at least to make it sound good.
However here is not a bad place to start if you are interested. See link below:

That application is called fruity loops. As you move on you can add more expensive synths called VSTs and other cool stuff and the music you can create if you know what you are doing can sound very proffesional.
One of my tracks that was made using it is currently being tested by Judge Jules (His words not mine).

It will naturally take a while to get used to using it but give it time and anything is possible.

Cheers
