Ok....i know some of you dont appreciate techno.....i just wanna know for what reasons...

I never said i dont like trance btw....its a style and i respect people who tend to prefer this kinna music from Tech

I understand some of you prefer trance....but why hating TECHNO

peurf squad ....help me on this one....to convince TAs about it:nervous:

i think they just connect more with tunes having a smoother drum part and have some melodies in it...
i prefer hard drums and bashing crunchy sounds that still contain a melody when u make a little effort to listen to it
anyway weve talked about this too much already, I GIVE UP:(
NEVER!:wtf:

it becomes too repetitive after a while. too much of the same over and over again, bam bam bam!

well, everyone who doesnt enjoy electronic music think its all about bam bam bam.... i just feel more energy in techno
ahlamalek
yeah i used to think about techno, all bam bam bam.... god knows how many events I missed because of that mentality (dave clark, ben sims, etc.)

Granted good techno is harder to find than good trance in clubs. Techno needs to be mixed by an excellent dj who knows how to make thing flow. Many times I've been disapointed by some techno djs because he lost the tempo and ruined the whole thing. ALso, you need to listen the techno set from the beginning so you can follow it more easily and get intrested by it. In trance you can just "jump" at any part and start enjoying.

Techno is less "likeable"

Techno is more hardcore than trance. You really have to be open minded to like real techno. But ofcourse anyone who is really into trance must be openminded which makes it possible to branch out to other genres of electronic music. But hey I like everything.

I dont know about everyone else but when I listen to techno I feel like going crazy!! I just feel like attacking something but instead I dance. Especially when the kick is so hard u can feel it flowing in u its like holy Sh*t!!!>>???...

Trance is of course nice and I love it if its got a good synth.

Electro well is 1 of my favorite but only because of some unique songs.

House is cool...

Progressive like James Holden is amazing best producing skills :toothless

But nothing will beat the feel techno gives me and it makes me sad that so many people will go through there lives listening to rap and never come to the electronic side.

first of all, to each his own, i don't care if you like techno, trance, dnb or monkey's banging on garbage can's...

the reason i don't like techno is that it doesn't hold a beat...even if it goes into a decent beat, it never last's or it get's looped for 5 minutes :P and listening to a set just for those few moments of nice beats is not my idea of having a good time. trance on the other hand, at least good trance, will always have some beat or build up no matter how hard or confusing it is. there's another problem with techno, it never leaves me satisfied! granted, i listened to VERY few techno tunes in my life, but if i was going to like the genre, i would have heard atleast ONE tune i liked enough to look for more techno...

and all this talk about techno being hard and trance being soft, who the cares, why would i want to listen to crap music (no offense.heh) just to say "yea! i listen to hard music and am l33t and you suck cause you listen to your trance". ill take my soft trance music and relax/dance to it, along with all the other genre's which hold a nice beat!

I do completely agree.. to each their own..

me personally, I used to mostly listen to house for YEARS, and a phase of a lot of trance too, but it was techno that really got me wanting to mix.. There's something about listening to a tight 3 deck techno set that just impresses the out of me!!

it's a high not felt very often for me with other genres.. but I still have my house & some trance favs.. and collect some vinyl of it too. And I will be the first to admit, techno is most definitely an acquired taste for many.. but fawk is it ever GOOD. :D :D :D

*TECHNO isn't SCARY* ;)

I initially got into the whole electronic music scene with trance, digitallyimported radio to be exact.

As for Techno, there's some djs that will really get me going, some that I will be bored to hell listening to.
Minimal techno for example will bore me to death, I just need some kind of change over a certain period of time, and minimal techno just doesn't satisfy my desires.

Djs who play funky techno will always be my favourite because I love variety in techno. Only beats just doesn't do it.
Djs like Dave Clarke or Ben Sims who mix constantly, and who are technically amazing, well I love their style.
But they're unique on this planet.

On the other hand, I can only talk from what I've heard on livesets and seen on videos because the only techno event I've ever attended was Mistress Barbara at Aria.
I had a blast and I would for sure attend another techno event at Aria, if I know for sure, the dj will get me dancing and keep me interested for the whole night.

Later.

PS: FunKenLouis, je t'ai rencontre a James Holden, si tu te souviens encore. J'etais celui qui avait amene sa camera digitale.
