| My exercise physiology teacher was telling my class an interesting story about his frozen water pipes. To fix the problem, he climbed under his house with a propane torch with the intent of heating up the frozen pipes. His wife would leave the faucet running in the house to correspond back to him where to keep heating the pipes. He was down there for around 45 minutes before he gave up and called his dad and consulted with him on the next coarse of action. His father told him to just keep trying to heat up the pipes under the house. So, he went back down under the house and kept trying to melt the ice in the pipes. Another half hour went by before he had enough and decided to call a professional. The plumber came to his house and my teacher showed him the problem and the plumber turned to him and gave him the look of shock as to what he tried to do with the propane torch. The plumber explained to him that the water pipes under his house are insulated with a type of foam that is suppose to help with freezing problems, then he told him that the pipes he was heating did not have that insulation but was in fact the gas lines that ran under his house and through the neighborhood. The guy is lucky to be alive! |

| Teachers get paid so badly that I'm of the opinion that they must be stupid. As such I'm not _that_ suprised. |

reminds me of a friend that couldn't start his car so what he did is open his car's carburettor, got a lighter and try to ignite the fuel to *help* jump start the car...the fuel did ignite but it didn't jump start the car but instead he started jumping from the flames that got on him :clown:
He's fine now :p  |

word on the bad pay, but I am a teacher, and I certainly know that black pipe = gas line.
I guess I am an above average one though eh. |
