its just kinda like a sixth sense...a paranormal experience.

If u don't believe in parnormal activity full stop well then there's not point in saying any more to u really, because that's your own choosing and there is nothing to disprove that such activity exists and does occur throughtout the world, even if on a minute scale. Likewise there is not enough evidence to persuade the disbelievers.

But i will repeat this was done on live tele, on a very respected live show. check the link i posted earlier.

I don't know why the disbelievers have this obsession to mention the technicality of a x-ray machine and the set up of metal plates etc.

It is just a LABEL the girl has been given so ppl can grasp the concept of her purpoted extra sensory abilities. Ok?

My point was not the form of radiation, she pretends to be able to detect. What i meant to say is that any form of radiation able to travel through human tissue without mayor influence (absorption) will travel through the human eye with rather less influence (detection).

Light at frequencies just out of the visible spectrum are just about able to penetrate the human eye to the lens. Now think about less transparent tissues like skin...

Now just start again with your sixth-sense non-sense, why woult she need to visually scan her patient, if she's using another sense than here eyes?

Oh ...what if the mutation is IN HER RETINA so that it stops and even detects the rays.

Also, you say that light at frequencies just out of the visible spectrum are just about able to penetrate the human eye to the lens. did you know that all the light we see goes through the lenses of our eyes and hits our retinas? I'm happy that you know what you are talking about...

She could be using a combination her senses i guess. How do we even know what the sixth sense is, assuming there is one?

We can't even comprehend such a thing because we only are able to understand and be knowledgable of the normal five ones.

There is no reference in the article to her using conventional radiation theory.

The only word in that article that I can assimulate with radiation is 'scan'.

They compare her POWERS to that of an x-ray machine, it doesn't say anywhere that she uses x-ray METHODS. Nor did she appear to when she did this on LIVE TELEVISION.

Just quit with your x-ray addiction ;)

Right... like she deveoped a solid metal plate behind her Retina...

Well, have a look at section "Absorption" in ->here<-. As you will see, light above and below our visible spectrum is quickly absorbed, thus will not travel very far into human tissue... as as said "just about to the lens"
That is one reason for laser ablation actially working. Otherways the laser would instantly burn away your retina.

Only exception is NIR or Near Infrared Radiation as described ->here<-
There is a possibility, that the eyes receptors for red light mutate and shift their detection range to lower frequencies. As I stated above this would enable her to detect the slightly warmer areas of fresh and ongoing infections maybe even temperature differences between organs. But no way of switching this ability. This would be like blending out blue in your eyesight or something.

"I stood up and let her eyes scan over my fully-clothed body."
"Her pupils dilated and she seemed to go into a trance for a couple of minutes."

...like our eyes would work other than detecting radiation

I'm not talking about X-Ray! I'm talking about Radiation and reception of radiation in general. Tissue can only detect radiation which it can absorb, if it is able to absorb, it will absorb... not allowing to penetrate... at least penetrate deep.

whatever, i just want a camera that can photograph through girls' clothes :D:D:D:D

Well actually, Her eyes could detect only a small part of the radiation while the rest passes through(like they detect photons with a very thin layer of gold) Also, just because the only way we know how to detect x-rays is with a huge metal plate doesn't mean that there is no other way to do it(Some sort of organic material the her retina might be made of)

My mistake...I was under the impression that x-ray radiation would be able to penetrate most human tissue atleast to a certain extent.... this is why skin and even organs are atleast somewhat transparent on an x-ray.

By the way, sorry for assuming that you know nothing about the subject!

all i want to know is why the hell isnt this girl the biggest thing on the planet??!! given that is no elaborate hoax but since itv has a story on it surely it can't be false.

Because of 3 things: BBC lying, WMD, janet jackson's right tit.
