Thoughts on the Behringer VMX300

I've come across an opportunity to pick up a Behringer VMX300 for a song and a dance. It's only been used for a month and half. Any thoughts on this piece of gear? I've got a Stanton SMX401, but it wouldn't hurt to have a spare mixer on hand, especially if the price is right. Besides, I tend to be a pack rat :D

It's not really a good piece of equipment. It's made out of cheap parts, and I wouldn't get it if I were you. Just get any other Vestax for that same price, it'll be much better quality.

Unless you can speak from experience, don't speak. I have one and absolutely love it. Sure, the faders come off every now and again, but the EQs aren't horrible, its got a pretty clean output and its very well laid-out. For the price (I got mine for $125 shipped, it was used) its the absolute best 3-Channel mixer money can buy.

For the price it's the best you can buy.
But it's still a piece of . I had a VMX200 and i'll never buy behringer again.

This experience is in the minority from everything I've heard. Personally, I've had a VMX300 for about a year and I still love it. I use it just about everyday, and nothing has broken off and only one fader is even a little loose. I think you'd have to really bang on it for anything to break.

Now what kind of bull is that? Can't you bring ANY facts? Behringer has an excellent warranty service. I had mine for a year, and I have NEVER had any problems with it. Of course, you get what you pay for, but it sure is worth its money.

Ive had my VMX300 for a year now and even though it is an OK quality piece of equipment, i can't recommend it. The main issue with my VMX is the lousy sound quality. The quality has been the same from the beginning. The faders also leak a bit. Also, not that ive ever used it, but the beatcounter is ed up like hell. The reading isn't even close to reality. It's cheap price is a tempting factor and im not saying the mixer is that bad. However, if you want quality, buy something else.

If you want a very good budget mixer , this is it. I personally would buy a djm500 but that's way more expensive then this one , so if you really want a good not so expensive mixer , this is the one:cool:

I've had bad experiences with Behringer products. I've only had the Behringer DJX-700 mixer and I thought it was OK until the crossfader all of a sudden started leaking and the EQ's were cracking. I also have a Behringer 16 channel sound board, and the audio quality is ty compared to my other Mackie 28 channel board.

I now have a Pioneer DJM-600 mixer and it MUCH better than any Behringer mixer out there. It's more durable, has a smoother crossfader, smoother EQ's, and MUCH BETTER, VERY NOTICEABLE improvement in sound quality.

Those were my reasons for saying that Behringer isn't a very good product. People that don't have enough money to buy a DJM-600 or a Xone:92, shouldn't be saying that Behringer is very good BECAUSE it's NOT. You probably haven't tried anything better than what you already own and think it's good for you but you're narrow minded to the other good products that are out there due to their high prices...

My take is this: If there's so much arguing over the quality of Berhinger products, then obviously there is something wrong with them. You don't hear the same claims being made against most of the other manufacturers, so I didn't look at Behringer when I bought my mixer.
