Hello people :)

I am just starting to mess around with production, and I have a few question that I hope someone can answer.

Ok, first, currently I have fruity loops, but I would like to get something a bit more.... professional. I've heard that Reason was a good program to get, what are your thoughts on the subject?

Second, does anyone know where I can learn about sampling, like getting vocal samples without all the junk behind them :P

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

while you can probably get some good answers in this forum, you might want to post this in the Production Studio forum. They specialize in this.

and last time I checked they had a sweet ass sticky thread with some usefull info in it.

check it out and good luck.

Thanks, I checked there. They had alot of stuff about synths, but no where did I see anything about Reason, or anything called Logic..

What's Logic? Never heard of that before. Any ideas how I can get a demo version of it or something?

Thanks.

Logic is a differnt Program, use google, I belive its made by eMagic, however this forum is about DJing, in the production Forum there is a large thread stickeyed with a name something like "New to the production forum, read here" this is all about differnt software production suites.

Logic is only made for Apples now... and Cubase & Sonar are the top of the line full production fronts in software. I myself bought Sonar 3.0 ...

Keep Fruity Loops... in the end you will really only be using it as a sequencer anyways.
The thing that changes your sound is VSTs.

If you don't want to spend money, there's always Buzz. It's free, a pain in the butt to use, full of bugs, but did I mention it's free?

you can actually be really cool if you use them both! ;)

erin, to answer your initial question;

Reason is a great all-in-one program to use. it works best with other sequencers like Cubase, Logic, and Sonar. Fruity Loops isn't any less professional than anything else. many big named producers use fruity loops so what's that say about them? ;) it's merely a matter of how you use the software to make it do what you want.
