Analogy to beat-matching

First of all, my friend isn't a moron, he knows more than me, he's been doing this stuff for more than a year and I'm just starting. Anyway, I'll try to beat (no pun intended) some sense into him.
I thought of an analogy when I was sitting at a red light today...most cars have different rates at which thier turn-signals flash, just like most songs have different BPMs. If you're watching a bunch of cars with their turn signals on you'll notice that they don't flash at the same rate, but once in awhile they will flash at the same time, but not for very long. It's the same thing with songs and their beats. |

| Oops, I accidentally started a new thread when I meant to post a reply under "Beatmatching without pitch control?!". Forgive me, I'm new to this board |
