Writing as I listen:
All My Love:
This track has some nice ideas although it sounds very retro a la 92. It's in dire need of some different sounds in my opinion. That piano sound reminds me so much of Bizarre Inc - Playing with Knives.
Not sure I would call this trance but some nice ideas there.
What software are you using?
The Battle:
Better Sounds in this one but they still sound a bit flat. This track is better than the first one but your sounds are very dry and I think you would benefit from the use of effects. Your perc could do with more building up. The track itself could also do with pads and more melodies. But I preffer this to the first one.
Bass Power:
Nope, this isn't Drum and Bass, far from it. It is however interesting. This song definately has the most energy of the ones I have heard so far.
You are quite confusing though as while some of the tracks sound like a person who has just started, there are elements which suggest you have experience. Seems like there is more than meets the eye here. .
Jumped Straight to 'Forgotten'.
This track has potential. But I still think your snare sound needs work in your rolls. Your sound is better in this track but it still sounds incomplete.
You have nice ideas but one of the things that's holding you back in my opinion is the sounds that you use. Some of them sounds very default soundcard settings if you see what I mean.
You seem to write a lot of music and have a lot of good ideas so keep 'em comming.
Cheers

I use Reason v2.5 to do my music.
On All my Love I was going for an earlier timeframe of the style. My friend sent me a bunch of samples from his earlier-model keyboard.
The Battle was the same idea. Expect my friend allowed me to use his Roland TB-303.
Most of my newersongs encorporate newer sounds, if you will. Such as Never Enough, Now and Again, and Last Time.
Thank you very much for your thought Nem, I will take them into heavy consideration next track I work on. I really appriciate it. |
