Mac I-Movie & DVD's

I'm running a Mac G4 with Mac OS 9.1. The computer has a DVD burner and Ive tried using DVD+R's and the drive doesn't seem to read them. Then, I tried using DVD-R's, and a message came up saying 'the disk is unreadable by this computer. do you want to initialize the disk?'

There's only one format and it's ProDOS OK, I've tried using that. It gives me an error message saying 'the disk can't be initialized because it's locked'

I have a movie that's 4.5 GB's, I did the editing in Imovie, and now I need to get it on DVD.

DVD's read in the drive, but I have no idea why I'm having this problem...

Any suggestions?

I would definitely suggest upgrading to OS X. I have a feeling this is a software problem, and that upgrading to OS X would let you do anything you could possibly want to with burning DVD's. You would then have iDVD at your fingertips, and I bet that'd solve your problem.

Good luck!

Is IDVD available for download anywhere? or any apps similar to it that run in 9.1
