Link has been updated!! New version!

I still need 2 finish it, but this version is ten times better!

Comments would be really appreciated. Feels like Im coming on heaps and bounds @ tha moment, with my producing.

Wouldn't mind some constructive criticsm so I don't get bored of working on this track.
hey cheggy
First of all, I want to say that at this stage of production, it is important to finish tracks. It will give you experience and you will pick up little things each time you make another track.

In regards to your song, its sounding okay. The pad sound is nice although the main lead that you use could do with a bit of improvement. Its a little simple at the moment.

I must say that everyting seems to fit in nicely. The track is decently eq'd which is nice to hear. A bit of variation would be nice though, although I'm sure this will happen in the final copy.

Nice work mate, get this finished and we'll see how it sounds.

Sort that clap thing out... I just keep on getting flash backs... ;)

Seriously now:
It's actually sounding quite good but it also sounds very dry.
There is a sound from that acid type synth you use that is way off key and just screams out at you, it starts at around 2:20 and just keeps popping out at you.

I'm with Cheggy on this one. The pad does sound good but you need more detail on some of the components of this track.
I would also recomend that you finish this.

Yup, I have really learnt loads just by being around these guys. There is a lot of good knowledge here.

Cheers for the comments guys.

Couple of things.

Nem -> How I can make it not sound dry?
Nem -> Shall I take the acid sound out?

The clap is an association thing (In other words it's me being a pain in the butt ;)). It's just the way it doubles up in the beggining with the intro, it's a little cheesy perhaps. The sound is also very raw in that you haven't really put any effects or anything on it so it's got a very 'drum machine' feel to it.

The sound is a little dry. What I mean by that is that the over all feel of space in the track is very compressed i.e. you don't get that feeling of time and space that you do from some tracks. It does admittedly change once the pad comes in. But some use of reverb and stereo effects might work well. Some panning might also help. Just be careful so you don't put too much reverb on it as that can sound bad too.

As far as the acid sound goes it's hard to say. I definately think you need something there. But it's the 1, 2, 3... 1, 2, 3, boing boing effect that sounds a little off in my ears... it's the boing if you catch my drift that seems out of tune (I know that's not very technical but I hope you see what I mean).

I have to say I like the over all feel of this track and will say once more that you should definately finish it.

You have the basis for a very good track here mate :)

the plus points:

Nice bassline goes well with that plucked sound you have bubbling above it.
Nice Pads (as mentioned)
And there is a some nice melodies in there :)

Things to sort out.

Percussion: I don't like that clap either. Try some thing with a bit more release on it, or try getting a nice snappy sounding sample and adding a touch of reverb.
Also try adding a few mid level percussion niceties to thicken it up the perc as a whole.
The saw lead you have used in here is good but it sounds too dry. Try adding some reverb, pan the sample slightly to one speaker and then add some dely bouncing off the opposite speaker to give it a nice atmospheric effect :)
On that subject, there is no setreo atmos in your track, it all sounds centered. Try panning some of the percussion to different speakers to give it more space in the mix ***note always keep the bass & Kick centered***
And either lose or replace the acid sample. It doesnt sound right IMO.

Hope this helps ;)
I look forward to hearing the finished mix :D

Cheers Bren!

Ur comments are really appreciated (Play your Remix of 3rd Earth at least once a day, really gave me my inspiration to carry on producing)!

Gunna get rid of the acid sound, come up with sumthing a bit nicer to fill the sound, mayb an soft slow arp-type melody.

Have found a new lead synth that I prefer, but will still be taking your comments about panning and adding reverb into effect (if it sounds gud of course)!

I'll keep you updated, but gunna hold on to if for a week or so, really try and make the big effort to finish the track. Nemesis & Cheggy made comments about finishing tracks, and he seems like he knows what he's talking about!!

Cheers guys
