i don't think i would ever throw a drink in a girl's face...well...there's one i can think of that might deserve it, but i probably wouldn't anyway hehehe. and the spitting thing is just messed up...and then on top of all of that...to do it all the next day?? that's really ed up. you're obviously dealing with a bunch of kids. at least i'll never have to worry about that cause i'm the sweet guy everyone loves hehehe. and i think if i saw that guy do that, i would definitely say something to his ass...
ps. i don't like the double standard though...if guys shouldn't do it...girls shouldn't do it either... |

slylee: now that you give the details of the situation, i say that both the guy and the girl are equally idiotic. You should have just let them duke it out and get thrown out of the bar, then you could have enjoyed the rest of your night.
anyway, when it comes to guy/girl fights, my policy is "an eye for an eye"...if she throws her drink in my face and i decide to fight back, i'd throw my drink in hers...if she spits in my face, then that calls for equal treatment. |

Details are important here, IMHO. It was definitely overboard to start cursing at her nonstop and throw water at her a day later, but as for maybe just spitting in her face and walking out? Well that depends, let's look at the two extremes...
1. Casual outing, pre-existing friendly relationship. Guy is drunk and hitting on girl obnoxious/generally being a dirtbag, a cocky arrogant ass... girl throws her drink and walks away. In this case, guy should definitely *gracefully* exit the scene. He had no dignity to begin with, so it's not like he's lost any.
2. Nice place, minimal to no pre-existing relationship... guy is all spiffed up in a nice suit and tie (definitely not something you want to scrub wine out of). Guy is being a perfect gentleman and girl is having a PMS attack, burns her hand on his cigarette, starts cursing at him for 10 minutes while guy stares in utter shock, then finally throws drink at him. In this case she's completely robbed him of his dignity, and she certainly deserves a wad in the face if he wants to give one to her.
Other details matter too... if she's one of the feminist types and still thinks she can throw drinks in guys' faces without hesitation, then that's not cool, double standards are crap. We don't really know their personalities, so it's hard to say - maybe she was pushing his buttons too and the drink was just the "enter" key.
Obviously these are the two extremes and the actual situation was probably somewhere in the middle... I'd say with regards to the specific situation, she overreacted and he overreacted even more. But it's hard to say not having witnessed it personally. |

she is 22...full time college student majoring in biology. you would never know though cuz she looks and acts like a stripper. i've known her for 10 years (on and off). we just got back in touch recently and started hanging out.
he is around 26. he's a real esate agent and just smokes pot all day long and goes to work when he feels like it. he has anger management problems. not to mention i've heard a seriously disturbing story about him from my boyfriend and his roommate.
he (dave) is crashing on my boyfriend's couch waiting for his condo to be ready which keeps taking longer and longer. but he's gotta be out by thurs since my bf is moving to another apt thank god...
after jay (my bf's old roommate who was with us) took dave back to the apt. he came back to the bar where he left us and then me and my bf and her and jay went out drinking some more. she ended up going home w/ jay (totally slutty) and then he took her back here in the morning to get her car.
i think dave was really mad that we didn't drop HER off and party with him. he felt dissed, which i can kind of understand, but it's hard to sympathize with him because i know too much about his dark side.
meedless to say, i won't be hanging out with either one of them any more. she's already calling me non stop. she probably wants to know what's up with jay after she slept with him. hhahaha what's up?? NOT A DAMN THING when you sleep with a guy on the first date. so stupid...
too much drama for even little ol' me:p |
