no kidding. since when are all Armin's fans 18-21? I can name about 50 in this and surrounding states that aren't and can't go to weekday show because of work. Not that anybody cares, 50 is just a drop in the ocean to them but I'm just sayin.. would it kill them to make ONE decent trance party on a weekend? or just let another company that DOES throw weekend shows take care of it :P |

And since when are all of armins fans over 21? It kind of goes both ways but that isn't the only reason a lot of these shows are on weeknights.
1. Venues - There are not many venues available out there on weekend nights in Atlanta. The ones that are, are definilty not big enough to host these djs on weekends. DJ fees are a lot higher on weekends. Eleven50 is one that is big enough but read number two. Name some other venues that could host these events on fridays or saturdays that are up to par with the standards that these dj's deserve?
2. Eleven50 is no longer avaialable to us on fridays, they have started a new format for their fridays. They are now giving us the last saturday of every month. So we have to work dates around 1 saturday night a month there and not all tours start and stop around that time. You kind of have to take what you can get.
3. DJ fees are a lot more on friday and saturday nights thus making door covers a lot more. Eleven50 has asked us to keep our door cover to no more then $15 for the saturday night shows because of their normal clientel. There is no way we could do a lot of these trance shows for $15 on weekend nights.
We do try and announce these shows with as much time as possible so people have time to make arrangements, in case you havn't seen it here is our schedule.....

hey Brandon, heard you might be opening up.. that's very cool
but yet again the parties are on Thursdays... ya yoo. why does Liquified enjoy making life so difficult on us people with regular corporate jobs?:whip: It's almost like they enjoy making our lives difficult and making us use up our few vacation days |
I'm actually opening for Ferry on March 4. My good friend Ross Hambrick will be opening for Armin on April 1...:) |

yeah.. sorry.. same problem :(
and liquified, I never said ALL of Armin's fans were over 21, but I suspect there's more than you realize. can't really prove it either way so no point in arguing about it, I'm not trying to.
I understand the club situation in Atlanta.. it completely blows, sux you lost Eleven50 on Fridays even though I don't recall Tiesto, PVD, Armin or Ferry ever being on a Friday. And 1150 holding you to $15...wth? how lame (them). oh well you have to work with what you're given.
Say, I know you're in talks with Compound, would THAT enable you to start throwing parties like these on weekends or are you just going to stick with weeknights?
you can announce the show 6 months in advance for all I care, the point is not how early you announce it, I still say you're losing a large chunk of adults who can't or won't go out on weeknights. I personally can't keep burning all my vacation days to go out on weeknights, and I know a lot of other people in the same situation. But hey, if you're filling the club with 18-21's what does it matter right?
I'm sure the party will own... Armin rules and I'll miss being at the show with everybody :(
Liquified - are you doing the Armin party in SF April 2? I'm flying all the way across the country just to see him & Markus on a Friday but I can't seem to locate tickets yet. |

Woah, gotta love hearing the inside scoops from promoters themselves!
I'll be at Armin, no matter the day, no matter the time.
I'm a student, these are the benefits I enjoy...for now.
Anywayz, see you all there ;)
It's going to be a night to remember |

None of you know me, but I'll be there for sure.
Quick question: When PvD was in Atlanta last October, the sound system that was set up at 1150 was killer. It sounded really good that night, there were speakers everywhere. When I saw AvB the following weekend at 1150, the sound system sucked. Who is in charge of the quality of the system? You'd think that the #3 DJ in the world would have something top notch, something comparable to the #2 DJ in the world. Anyone agree? Ferry Corsten's set at 1150 was a blast too, but it was not as loud or didn't have the sound quality that PvD had either.
Is there anyway to get the same sound, or is it just too costly to set it up that way?
:conf: |
:stongue: PvD is THE MAN. |
