I've been getting really stressed out with my latest production, the intro and bridge have come along brilliantly, but can't seem the get the lead sound right. Sounds like its in the background.
I've played about with stereo enhancers, panning and using panned delay, but they all sound crap.
Here's a Very Small Stream to show ya what I mean.

Any comments and suggestions would be SO appreciated. Really wanna finish this track.
Thanks guys. |

Maybe something to do with your stream setup, i.e. Media Player, Winamp.

hah.. that didn't work either.. but I think the song you're talking about is "Chorus Sample" - it sounds pretty good.. the lead really doesn't sound like it's "in the background to me" but I can see what you're talking about... Try increasing the volume a bit and using an EQ to weed out the "muddy frequencies" which on this sound like they would be between 400 and 700 Hz.. then try upping around 2khz and getting rid of the inaudiable frequences in the lead (everything under 50Hz) and maybe a small boist around 8khz-10khz for clarity...
check out this thread if you have no idea what I'm talking about by "EQing":

Alanzo, cheers for the advice. Will try that out 2moro, had enough of it today!
Understand what is EQ'ing but am still learning, starting to understand it tho i.e. take out mid frequencies for Pads etc.
What plugin do you use for realtime equing withing ur sequencer.
I'm currently using FL Studio and its crappy Parametric EQ. Want a plugin where you can adjust individual frequencies, for example 705hrz. Have sony's plugins but they always distort when used as a plugin. Fine with a wav sample. |

I use ANWIDA Soft GEQ31V - it's a 31 Band EQ.. I like it a lot :) |

Sounds WICKED!!!!
How much did you pay? |

I got it off of their website for $69.. not a bad deal for how much I use it (on every sound in my tracks) and how versatile it is.. |

Alanzo...any more info on that equalizer? Is it a plugin? Like a spectral analyzer?
Thanks |
