AVALAND SATURDAYS – February 7th
FELIX DA HOUSECAT
When Chicago’s FELIX DA HOUSECAT released Kittenz and Thee Glitz in 2002, he turned all of dance music on its side and spawned a synth revival. Critics across the country were hailing Felix as the producer of the moment, the DJ of the year (Spin 2002), and the artist of the future. Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, and Spin all dubbed Felix one of the most creative artists at work in music today. Now, he’s set to release the new Devin Dazzle and the Neon Fever , 15 tracks of delectable, glittery, synthetic and organic, beat-laden funk heaven that will undoubtedly reawaken the world to the next big thing…again.
As a stalwart of the underground electronic scene in Chicago, Felix’s meteoric rise is a result of his years of plying his funky sounds and dedication to the music. Tonight, Felix brings is trademark glitz and cool stylings to Avalon for future generations.

Felix is one funky cat! no pun intended
Can throw down with the best of 'em and creates a greaty party atmosphere.
The "I Know Electrikboy" LP under his Thee Maddkatt Courtship guise is one of my favorite albums till this day. When it came out in '99 Sasha hailed it as one of his favorite albums of the year.
Wish I could be there. A-girl please bring him back in the near future. |

Felix's new album is out in May 2004, so I'm sure he'll be back to tour in support of it.
He's been underrated for so many years, it's nice to see hin get his due, plus he is one really cool cat (pun intended). One of the most down-to-earth guys ever!
He brings a vibe with him that extends to the dancefloor. He'll bring a great crowd, not the normal weekend clubbing crowd at Avalon but it will def be fun. |

One of the funniest songs you will ever hear to in your life. I almost crashed my car 3 times while listening to it!

Now when you hear the cat do his REAWWWWWW I believe that is Felix himself doing the effects. I wonder if he will do a Live performace of this song at Avlon. I may go and check this out. :cool:

As the story goes, it was way back when me and John had no clue about electronic music. John was desperate to get a dance music tape (CD's weren't even very popular at this time) and we took off on a journey to Coconuts. John only had like 6 bucks, and he grabbed the cheapest tape on the shelf with TECHNO in big bold purple letters plastered across the front of it. All pumped up, we put the thing on in my car and it ended up being some drag queen pretending to be a cat and trying to catch a mouse with the test electro ever in the background :stongue:
Who knows? He might be ok now, this was like 4 or 5 years ago. |

ehh. he sucked @ i have a dream couple years back @ hammerstein... lots of ugly transitions.. i like his productions tho.. Silver Screen was dope.. |
